As soon as the feeling of floating over clouds and euphoria wore off, he pushed the slender girl off his king sized bed, her body getting tangled in the sheets.

She was about to let out a curse but it lodged in her throat as blazed black eyes penetrated her with intense anger. He growled and she looked like she was about to wet the bed.

He saw her tremble in fear and scramble from the bedding, searching frantically for her clothes that were strewn across the room. The girl grabbed her underwear and dress off the floor and rushed out of the room as if Satan himself was there and about to rip her to shreds.

The man punched the wall next to the bed where he was kneeling, so powerful it made a loud cracking sound tremble throughout the building like thunder. He growled wildly and gripped at his hair, surely yanking a few hundred strands out of his capillaries.

Suddenly, he trembled. He shook and thrashed like an animal, letting out strangled grunts and moans. The man's muscles tightened and flexed, veins making themselves more prominent with every jerk of his body.

Ache. His heart was aching painfully. Somehow, he found himself in his attached bathroom, facing his full-length mirror.

He saw an empty man. He felt blood pumping through his veins as he tightened his fists. He felt the fast beating of his heart. He felt the pressure in his chest every time he inhaled and exhaled. The man lowered his gaze from his face down to his thighs.

In place of where you would have expected to see tanned, toned thighs... Were hundreds of thin lines crisscrossed in a woven pattern of despair and pain. Some of them were pink and red, recently added. Whereas others were pale, older.

His hand gripped a replacement blade from his razor pack that was carelessly thrown on the counter.

Guess they were all notches under his belt after all?
