...

"Did you use that revolver the other day? The golden one in the case." She asked, her tone dead serious. The boy's heart dropped, the color draining from his face. Shit! How did she find out?! He stared her dead in the eyes, afraid to answer. He can't lie to her! He doesn't even like lying in the first place, now he has to lie to her, the last person he would ever wanna lie to. This was going to be tough..

"No, I think Tanya did. Heard something outside that day too." He said. Sorry Tanya. She nodded, seemingly deep in thought as she stared down at the sink. She then looked back up at him. "Alex, I know you do bad things. I know you aren't completely innocent. You can tell me if you did." She said with a deadpan and stone cold voice, her expression stern yet also gentle at the same time. The fear the boy had felt just hearing her speak like that, the things she was saying, it instilled some sort of terrible fear into him, his adrenaline kicking harder than his heart was.

"I swear on my life I didn't use it." He said. It wasn't quite a promise, more like a twisted lie. Technically he didn't use it, he just had it in his hand to scare people. So he wasn't actually lying, right? He just used the truth to convey something else, that's all. Yep. He was starting to feel more sure of himself with more and more lies being fed to him. All of which came from him in fact. He was lying to himself to get away with this, and most of the time it actually works.

"Alright, I trust you." She said with a slight sigh. She still had the hairbrush in her hand, she just wasn't using it yet. Like she was waiting for something. The boy had assumed she was waiting for him to leave, so he left her in the room with a quick peck on the cheek goodbye. I mean, she's gonna be out in the same room as you in a little bit so why'd you do that? Dumb bitch. He walked out into the living room, looking around. Buying time for something. Even he didn't know what, but he was still doing it.

Then he figured, to hell with this waiting around in the middle of the living room! I'll wait for Sarah to come back. He walked over to the couch, sitting down on one side of it. Patiently waiting for the girl he loves most to come out like a dog waiting for their owner to come home. He waited, and waited, and waited. It was a good 30 minutes he had to wait, but it felt like hours. He was staring at the hall that Sarah would come out of the whole time. Towards the end of the time he had to wait he was getting rather bored, the ticking of the clock on the wall wasn't enough to keep him company in the moment.

Sarah then walked out of the bathroom, freshened up and looking like a million bucks. Probably feeling like it too. She walked into the living room, aaaand right past Alex. He watched her walk off to the kitchen, not saying a word. Huh. Maybe she's just really hungry. He gazed at the kitchen, hearing her do something in the room, not seeing her due to the wall in the way. She was probably cooking so that makes perfect sense. His head was lowered upon her leaving the living room, a little part of him deep inside becoming sad. He was trying not to be so sad because he thought it was disgustingly clingy of him.

Eventually she had emerged from the kitchen for a second, peeking her head into the living room. "Hey, did you eat yet?" She asked the boy. He nodded, as much as he loved Sarah's cooking he wasn't hungry at the moment. She nodded and once again sank back into the kitchen. The sounds of things being cooked, cracked, stirred, sizzled, all of it. When she cooked she cooked a lot, and somehow there weren't any leftovers. So odd how a small girl such as herself could eat so much yet still be so thin. It bugged Alex in a way honestly.

Finally, at long last she had walked out of the kitchen with her plate of food. Seeing her even just how he normally sees her was a serotonin boost for Alex. He really did like her a lot. She sat down next to him on the couch. turning on the tv and digging into her oddly large plate of food. Why the hell does she eat so much? Better question, how the hell does she eat so much? It was so weird. The boy watched tv with her, wanting to do something like wrap his arm around her or scoot a little closer, but he was too shy. He was more than ok with it all, as long as someone leads the way for him. That's all really, he's just gonna go with whatever because of it. Which in turn isn't the best idea.

He stared at the flashing TV in front of him, slowly pulled into a daze. He wasn't even paying attention to the show, he was just thinking. Remembering things. But when he remembers things he can't  help but remember all of them. Even the bad memories had started to appear and play out in his mind. And he couldn't stop it. It's like he was forced to see that experience again. The sight of the car driving down the road away from where he was dumped, the bullets piercing his mom's chest, the knife digging into his dad's neck. Who was next?

Which person is he gonna make the mistake of killing next, huh?

Beyond all his reasoning, his panic to make it go away, the wave of worry and dread washed over him as the realization set in. The only person left for him to hurt is Sarah. He knew that one way or another he destroyed everything he touched, that he caused the things he knew and loved to die right in front of his stupid face. Inside he was having the worst meltdown of overthinking and dread, anxiety thrown in as well, but on the outside he was just watching TV. Sure he was slightly trembling, but..

Sarah hadn't seemed to care.
