A blue violet shine caught 4FE's eye. As she glanced to her side and turned her body around, she froze. A chill of fear trickled down her back. Tears pushed against the back of her eye as she processed what she just saw. 4FE didn't want to believe what was in front of her:

Gem shards of a vivid blue violet hue that could only belong to another tanzanite like herself. 4FE fell to her knees as her tears finally managed to come out of her eyes and run down her cheek. She realized who the shards belonged to.Tanzanite 4FD, Pink Diamond's prized gem and 4FE's 'sister' was shattered. There was nothing 4FE could do about it but cry.

4FE let out a wail of agony that echoed through the battlefield. All combat paused as her cries reached the quartz soldiers fighting the war. A yellow Citrine dropped her weapon. She immediately knew where the cries came from. As she came closer and closer to 4FE, she became louder. Her voice, however, became more strained and raspy from crying, almost screaming so much for so long.

4FE was a sobbing mess at this point, her clothes tattered, crouched down on the ground by four gem shards once belonging to her best friend. Feeling Citrine's presence behind her, 4FE stood up. Being barely over five feet tall, she dwarfed the quartz soldier before her. Citrine's muscular eight foot frame was intimidating. Her stance made her just a bit taller, showing her strength. 4FE quickly collected the shards, making sure she had all of them. When 4FE was sure that she had every shard, she turned to face Citrine.

The look on Citrine's face gave 4FE the chills. It was just so cold and almost completely expressionless. Just by that look, 4FE knew that something was up with this gem.

"You're missing a piece." Citrine said.

4FE looked down at the shards in her hand. Citrine was correct. 4FE was missing a corner of 4FD's triangular gem. But how did Citrine know?

"H- how do- you know th- that...?" 4FE stumbled on her words.

Citrine said nothing. The cold expression still remained on her face. It was almost like she was wearing a mask. She didn't move much either. 4FE felt another chill of fear. She now knew there was definitely something wrong. An instinct kicked in that made 4FE know that Citrine was the one who shattered 4FD.

4FE paused. "You... shattered her, didn't you?" 4FE was still in denial. It couldn't have been Citrine. 4FE didn't want to believe it. She tried her best not to. She felt numb.

Citrine's face finally changed. A grin stretched across her face making 4FE step back. "You are so smart. In fact, I have a gift for you." Citrine opened a clenched fist and held her hand out to 4FE.

4FE looked down at Citrine's hand. It was the missing piece of 4FD's gem. She hesitated but quickly grabbed the shard from Citrine.

"Why do you have that...?" 4FE asked, still trying not to believe what Citrine did.

"You already know." Citrine said. "I shattered her."

4FE's numbness quickly turned into rage as she finally heard Citrine admit it. "YOU SHATTERED HER!" she yelled. With the glow of her gem that replaced her right eye, 4FE summoned her dagger. Though tanzanites aren't meant to fight, 4FE kept a dagger that an obsidian made for her.

She charged towards Citrine. The next thing Citrine knew was that she was on the ground. 4FE's foot was firmly pressed against her chest, pinning her to the ground. 4FE then put the blade of her dagger by Citrine's throat. Citrine pushed 4FE's hand away.

"Let me explain!"

"What's there to explain? We both know that YOU DID THIS. IT'S YOUR FAULT 4FD IS GONE!" 4FE's face was now inches from Citrine's. Both her feet were on top of Citrine's chest now. Struggling to speak from the pressure of 4FE on her chest, Citrine let out a few little sounds. She wheezed and grunted, telling 4FE to get off of her. 4FE stepped off of Citrine.
