My first night out, I'm freezing, but am alright. I've decided to keep writing these journal entries on my phone, so I can see how far I've come the longer I am out here. Glad I thought to leave the solar panel charger out earlier! I don't know what I'd do without it!
Anyway, I got here about mid-afternoon, so I had a great chance to find food for supper. It took a while, but eventually I found a stream! I knew from YouTube tutorials how to make a fishhook out of tiny sticks and string, so I did that. I caught a fish almost immediately! I cut open the fish to see what the fish was eating, but it was empty. I am so glad I researched old-fashioned fishing on the internet! The fish having an empty stomach meant the fish in the stream were ravenous! I excitedly put my hook back into the water and caught several more fish! I cleaned them easily enough, but it was so messy! It's going to take some getting used to. I started the fire with my Firestarter kit and some YouTube tutorials, but my tinder will run out eventually.
I built a little shelter with some full branches, butting up against a boulder, but I am still cold! In fact, I better put my phone away so I can get to sleep before long.
