"So, how many blocks is it to your place?" He asks, breaking the silence we have been in since we left the studio.
" Is that complaining I hear?" I question, looking up at him.
" No, it's asking a simple question." He laughs, and I laugh along with him.
"It's just ten blocks away," I responded."Mmm," He mumbles. A stern expression coated his face.
Is he changing his mind about walking me home? What if he wants to see how many more blocks he can do something to me? No, Iris, this is Harry Styles, not some creepy random guy. I should be fine; I'm overthinking, but what if he regrets walking me home? Maybe I live too far, and he is already tired.
" Six blocks away," I hear him say
"What?" I look up at him
"We are six blocks away; we just passed four blocks, so we are six blocks to your place," He says.
I look up to see which street we are on; what do you know, we are six blocks away. I must have zoned out.
" Oh yea, I guess you're right; you can see my complex from here, actually," I say, pointing at one of the many tall skyscrapers that crowd each other.
" Iris," I hear Harry call my name; I look up to see him staring at me; Suddenly, he grabs me by my waist, pulling me in close to his body. I noticed a group of people passing us by; He pulled me in to avoid bumping into the crowd. As soon as they passed, Harry let me go. But not entirely as we stayed locked by our elbows. "We should stay this way if I have to move you out the way again." A smirk appeared on his face. I roll my eyes at him.
We finally made it to the front of my building; I assumed he would leave me at the front of my door, but instead, he followed me through the lobby until we reached the elevators.
I turn around to grab my bag from him and press the number to my floor.
" Thanks again for walking me home, even though you didn't have to," I say " Should I call you a taxi or uber?"
" It was my pleasure, princess," He bowed, making me laugh. "I think I'll just walk back to my place. It isn't far."
" Oh, how close are you? two blocks, three blocks...five?" I ask.
" Well, you see, I'm right next door." He responds.
"Oh, that isn't too— wait, you're right next door!" I say louder than expected.
" Yes, why is that a problem?"
"No, I just think how weird of a coincidence that is," I say.
"I see it more as a blessing," He smirks, " Anyways, Iris, thank you for this wonderful night, and since I know you won't invite me upstairs, I think I'll just see myself out" Harry turns around, heading towards the front doors.
"Wait!" I grab his arm " Thank you for your company today. Even though you were a bit of an ass, I was grateful for it."
" So she does have manners. Well, sweetheart, it was no problem. I am a gentleman." He winks before walking away.
I watch him leave my building and walk towards his. I head into the elevator, click the top floor button, and wait.
There is something about Harry that I can't shake; maybe his good looks or personality draws me to him. Whatever it is, I need more of it.
Will I see him again? No, I need to stay away from him before anything wrong happens. I can't get attached, but I'm sure this was a one-time deal. After all, he is a celebrity.
