"We'll start with the recent reports from Marco" Antonio stood in front of the group, his hand clutching a big brown folder. He wore a grey sweatshirt paired with black jeans and black suede loafers. He opened the folder he held in his hands and flipped through sheets of paper containing detailed reports compiled by Marco on the operations so far. Marco had recently sent an important report on state of affairs across the battlefield, of course with help from his cousins. He continued:
"the fighting seems to be slowing down, the last encounter between our forces and theirs was three days ago at the city of Kherson, south of Ukraine" Antonio looked up to glance briefly at his sister Stella before peering back at the sheets. "Marco's group encountered dozens of Lucio's men led by one of his personal guard"
At the mention of Lucio's personal guard, breaths caught across the room with a weary look plastered on Stella's face. Sam grabbed her hand and lightly squeezed to calm her. Everyone knew how powerful Lucio's personal guard were. They were hardly seen outside except on special occasions. They were the first vampires he turned and made commanders over his entire army. The only people capable of taking them on were Antonio and his siblings and they were no match for any of the grandchildren in a one on one combat.
"They're okay" He reassured them. "Marco with the help of Luca and Angela fought her off"
Relief flooded across the room. They were spared the worst.
"So it took the strongest three to fight her off" Sara added tucking a loose strand of her white hair behind her ear.
"That's impressive" Jared beamed with pride. "One would have thought it would take more than just three of them to take on one of Lucio's 13"
"We have strong kids" Ulisse smiled.
Antonio cleared his throat to continue. His eyes scanned through the paper in his hands before he placed it back in the folder and shut it. His eyes briefly swept across the room.
"By the look of things, Lucio appears to be drawing down his forces. Why? We don't know yet but we believe he may be planning something bigger so we won't be backing down just yet"
"Do we have any clue so far as to what he's planning?" Zek asked.
"Nothing yet but we have people digging around. We'll know as soon as something happens"
"Lucio and his games" Lord Cornelius voice vibrated across the room. Noone knew Lucio more than his cousin. Though sworn enemies, both shared a deep bond.
"What about the kids? They should return home right?" Teresa looked to her father and then Antonio. She didn't see the need for their presence on the battlefield as the fighting died down.
"Yes they will. They should be back by the end of the week" Antonio replied earning cheers from the grandchildren present.
"There are still reports of some fighting going on in some locations especially to the east of Europe. We'll continue to monitor events as they unfold, we can't show weakness"
"And what of your little town, Port Orford right?" Emiliana perked up at the name of her town. She hoped nothing bad happened especially to her friends, she couldn't bare the thought of any harm coming to them. The thought alone made her stomach churn.
"Has it been cleared of those scumbags?" Sara continued.
"You mentioned they went after our dear Emili's friends" Luigi added. Sara nudged her mate and gave him a sharp look as did the rest of them. Emiliana was never suppose to know that particular information. Antonio gave Luigi a pointed look.
