"You think that fate makes you fall in love?
🌘
"Teddy!" Mani calls out again in panic. "Spit it out!" But the alpha stands stoic, opening his mouth and sticking out his tongue, to show the pill had been swallowed.
"Too late." He says with a smug grin, before adding. "Don't say I don't give you what you want."
"I don't want this." Mani is quick to reply. He pulls at the hair on his head with frustration, then diverts the emotion towards Teddy. "You stupid, stupid idiot." He bangs his balled up fists on the alpha's bare chest. Teddy raises his hands, placing them around the omega's wrists, halting his attack. He holds him firm, with Mani's struggles for release slowly giving in to tears. "I'm sorry…I didn't want this." He repeats.
Teddy looks down at Mani's teared up face. He lets go of his wrists, only to cup his jaw. Their eyes meet with Teddy smiling a sad sort of smile. "If this is what it takes to get through to you how we really feel about each other, then I'll do it." He utters as he leans in. He presses his lips against Mani's. The moment was so high in intensity, that Mani felt the pain of something breaking in his chest more noticeable.
He pulls back, grabbing at his bare skin as a shooting pain pushes through him as if he were being stabbed. He looks up at Teddy to see him sway on his feet, then stumble as the alpha holds out an arm to steady himself on Mani. "Teddy?" Mani begins to panic as fear now fills him.
Teddy tries to focus on Mani but his vision becomes a blur, his head begins to feel dizzy as a searing pain fills his chest. "What…what the fuck have you made me do?" He says, his voice filled with fear and rage combined. He takes both hands to the omega's shoulders and stumbles forwards. Mani is pushed back against the wall, with the alpha maintaining his grasp. "What is happening to me?"
"Teddy, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Mani cries out as he sees the alpha crumble before him. He reaches forwards trying to catch Teddy as he falls. His weight is heavy upon his frame as Mani just about manages to get the alpha to a bed.
"What is happening?" Teddy repeats, his knees raising and curling up into his body. Teddy felt like he was being pulled inside out as his whole body seemed to contort.
"I don't know?" Mani replies, his own heart feeling an uncomfortable throb from within it, but not it seemed to the extreme of the alpha. He places his healing hands on the alpha's chest, a light glow begins to emit, but Teddy's skin seems to repel it like a magnet. "My touch… it's not working!" Mani frets as he stands up feeling totally useless. The one gift he possessed, rendered powerless. "I'll get help…" Mani begins, but Teddy pulls at his arm.
"Not a hospital, too dangerous … just… just get that teacher… he…arh… he takes the pills. He will know what to do." Teddy is now doubling over with pain.
"But what if you're gonna die?" Mani begins. But again, even through the pain, the alpha interrupts.
''The wolfkind are … are more important than me." He utters. Mani knew what he was getting at. Teddy was an alpha. One day to be a leader. If there was anything wolflike still within him, Mani knew Teddy would protect the identity of his kind until the end, even at the cost of his own life. He gets his phone, making the call to the professor.

"Mani." Professor Kelly enters the dorm room. Mani steps back, letting the professor in and allowing him to see the alpha on the bed.
Teddy had been drifting in and out of consciousness for the past half hour. "I keep trying to use my power professor but it won't work." Mani says in desperation as he now follows behind his tutor, who is now leaning over the alpha on the bed.
"Well it won't." The professor says as if it's obvious. "The pill has blocked the ability. He is shading his wolf right now." He takes Teddy's wrist, feeling for the pulse. But it still leaves Mani confused.
"You can see he is not well." Mani points out. "Tyler, you, your partner take the pills. You are not like this."
"We are bloodkind. The pill is for our species, not yours." The professor drops Teddy's wrist, turning to look at Mani. "What the hell are you doing taking them?"
Mani looks to the floor in shame. "I stole it from Tyler. I wanted to know if Teddy really loved me. But I wasn't really going to use it. I was going to throw it away. Teddy found it and…"
"And he took it." Professor Kelly concludes. Looking back at the unresponsive alpha. "And you're lucky he did and not you. We are just going to have to wait it out until the pill wears off. If it wasn't for his sheer muscle mass absorbing the drug, he would be dead right now.''
"Dead?" Mani now goes wide eyed at the words he was hearing. He pushes forward, kneeling by the bed, taking the alpha's hand in his. He squeezes it right between his two hands. His chest hurts. His head hurts. He felt the unmistakable void where Teddy's voice had whispered to him in his mind, but one thing still remained and that was his undeniable feelings.
"This is my fault. He took the pill, but it's my fault. I gave him doubt. I gave him a reason to take it." Mani says through the now fresh onset of tears.
"What reason?" The professor questions. "You are made for eachother."
"That's just it! We are made for each other. Fatemates. We would never have crossed each other's paths if it weren't for our fate." Mani looks up at the professor, who even in this moment of crisis was smiling.
"You think that fate makes you fall in love?" He says with amusement. "You think what you are feeling for him right now is because of fate?"
"Well… yes, isn't it?" Mani says with confusion.
The professor takes a sigh as he shakes his head. "Firstly, the pill is working, that I know, albeit not perfectly, so whatever you are feeling right now is all you." The professor smiles as he sees the cogs in Mani's head turning, realising exactly what professor Kelly was implying.
"And secondly, fate has no power over free will. We all have free will Mani. We all have the power to choose which way we want things to turn out. Granted, some choices may not be easy, or limited, but they are choices all the same." He places a hand on Mani's shoulder. "You feel something for him because you want to. You chose this path for yourself."
Mani looks back at Teddy, still motionless on the bed. It all became so clear at that moment. Like a veil had been lifted. Fate or no fate. Mani knew. He was in love with Teddy.
