Billy was known to sleep around he was portrayed as a womaniser, having a girlfriend wasn't something that interested him at all it just wasn't his style at all. It was definitely by accident how he came across Y/N, she met Max first while skating around town and the two became quite close even though there was a small age gap in the friendship but that didn't bother the two girls, as time went on Y/N spent more and more time at Max's house and that's when she met Billy— that being said she didn't meet him in the best possible way he was kissing a girl rather disgustingly on the sofa in the front room which made both Y/N and Max frown in disgust.
A few months passed and Billy began to wear Y/N down and she started to spend a lot more time with him along with Max, she always made sure that she split her time equally between the two especially since it was Max who she knew first Y/N had no idea that she would start to gain feelings for Max's stepbrother,
Something changed in Billy when he started to see Y/N a lot more often, his feelings towards her developed and he fell in love with the sweet girl— Y/N wasn't like the usual girls who Billy had been with, they all wanted him and drooled over him practically selling themselves to him and he took each one without a care because they were easy but not Y/N, she wasn't cocky when it came to Billy she didn't play hard to get with him she just saw a different side to him that no one did and the two just grew closer and closer to each other over a period of time.
One specific night Max and her friends were in trouble and the only person she knew she could trust and try to help them was Y/N, when Y/N had been caught up on everything she took a deep breath and looked at Steve before looking back at the maps that had been drawn out and placed all around the house with sticky tape.
"This is where the chief dug his hole. This is our way into the tunnel so— here, right here. This is like a hub. So you've got all the tunnels feeding in here, so maybe if we set this on fire." Mike explained to the kids who were getting sucked into this plan
"Okay yeah— that's a no." Steve objected
"The Mind Flayer would call away his army—" Dustin continued
"They'd all come to stop us—" Lucas said
"And we'd circle back to the next exit here—" Mike pointed at the drawn out map "—by the time they realised we were gone—"
"El would be at the gate." Max said
"Guys! Hey! Hey!" Steve shouted and the kids turn to see Steve, his hands were raised in disbelief. This was definitely not the Steve that the gang were used to. He was very angry "This— this is not happening." Steve stood his ground and Y/N just looked at him
"But." Mike started but Steve cut him off
"No buts, I promised I would keep you shitheads safe, and that is exactly what I'm going to do. We're sitting here— on the bench— and we're waiting for the starting team to do their job. Does everyone understand that?" Steve asked the kids seriously and they just looked frustrated, Max looked over at Y/N and pleaded slightly
