It was 1:42 p.m. when Sarada came to Uzumaki's place, Boruto and her had arranged to meet to do some training with Sasuke that afternoon, Sarada wished to pick him up so they would do some warm-up moves moments before the time set with her father. It was the third day in which Kawaki and Boruto were by themselves at the house, since Hinata, Himawari and Naruto had been traveling, they would come back the following day morning. Hinata had left organized and tagged containers with meat, vegetables, rice and legumes, half-prepared so the boys would finish preparing them for all the meals. She had strictly warned Kawaki and Boruto to feed themselves properly and at the right time of the day accordingly to the spreadsheet she had left stuck on the fridge. They wouldn't have missions outside the Village by those days and they would be alone taking care of the house, Hinata had also left a worksheet with the essential chores for the house's maintenance during that time. Well, the two teenagers were not too messy, however, it would be an illusion to say that they were keeping the house organized the way Hinata had recommended. To begin with, they were all messed up about the usual time schedule, since they had no missions and no adult supervision, they were switching the day for the night. Boruto spent hours playing the videogame, and Kawaki, who couldn't match his brother's player skills, didn't waste much time in the game, so he chose to spend his time in the kitchen trying out some sweetie recipes he had found out in an old Kushina's cook notebook, the Uzumaki Matriarch had a much more caloric food taste than her Hyuga daughter-in-law, who preferred healthier dishes. Boruto used to mock his brother calling him "sweet tooth", but he had no complaining while he was eating great portions from Kawaki's cooking. Although when it came to the task of doing the dishes, they used to have some arguing and Kawaki ended up being the one to do it, since Boruto made his point recalling Kawaki "was not cooking by mom's schedule", although he was the one not following Hinata's instructions as he chose to have delivered hamburgers as dinner and, on the top of that, he bragged about not letting dirty dishes by doing so.
Sarada knew the two boys were by themselves for three days and she secretly wished to pick Boruto up in person so she could check things up in the house to make sure the boys "hadn't set anything on fire". She rang the doorbell three times, with almost a one-minute gap between the ringings. No one showed up to answer her, the black-haired girl got angry wondering Kawaki would be asleep till late and Boruto maybe had left the house, she knew one of them was a deep sleeper and the other one, well, he wasn't that lasy. She decided to sit at the front door jamp and wait a little longer. It was fine, she had come more than one hour earlier than the scheduled time, Boruto would not take much longer to show up, she thought.
_Sarada, it's you! _Kawaki opened the door behind the girl after five minutes of waiting, the boy had his hair wet and a highly moody look.
Sarada stood up quickly turning to be in front of the door and facing Kawaki.
_Uh, so you're finally awake!
Kawaki clicked his tongue:
_Yeah, unless I was sleepwalking while I was taking a shower. Boruto is not here as you've noticed. Just come back some other time, I have more important things to do.
Sarada frowned:
_Geez, today your mood is completely blasted, can't you even invite me to wait for him inside? I and Boruto have arranged to meet at three p.m., he won't take much longer to come back, where did he go to anyway?
Kawaki shrugged, left the door open and turned to walk by the hallway as he spoke and moved away from the entrance:
_To nosy people like you, there is no need to make invitations since you will be getting inside anyway, but I won't waste my time playing "the entertain the guest" thing with you.
