Once you realise that pain is a necessary part of being an artist, things get much simpler. The only way to comprehend human emotions is to feel more than most people, so you should. The only way to achieve it is via experience; we cannot do it by studying psychology or by employing technology to read it from the outside.
Of course, it's frightening, but experiencing pain allows you to feel your emotions more deeply. You'll spend more time with yourself and your emotions the more hurt you feel. Everything that needs to be studied demands solitude, including emotions.
In order to find happiness and beauty, you must first immerse yourself in pain and negative emotions. Once you do this, you will begin to see beauty in the seemingly insignificant things that most people take for granted. It is these very basic things that people can relate to when you use your chosen form of expression, whether it be singing, painting, or whatever. Nothing changes.
Being uncomfortable and sacrificing your anguish are requirements of depth. Consider the ocean as an example. Most people spend their time in the shallow areas because the deeper areas require more effort, are frightening, and are difficult for them to handle.
If not in front of the entire world, you must at the very least reveal your own weaknesses to yourself and break them down. The deeper you go, the more isolated you'll feel and the less suitable you'll be for the world around you. It never ends. But that's another sacrifice this universe expects of you; frequently, you'll be too preoccupied taking pictures to take part in priceless moments. Since you're performing your obligations as an artist to raise awareness of those times when you create your work, you are unable to engage fully. To make the world around you happier overall, you're sacrificing your own happiness. You're bringing minor things into focus and showing how lovely they are. They are returning to the present because of you. When it seems as though everything is slipping away from them, you are giving them a foundation. Those who genuinely lack anything are receiving strength and purpose thanks to you.
You can't lead people out of darkness unless you've been there first. It also takes time to get to know the place well and everything it has to offer and take away from you. You can only hold someone's hand and wait while they figure it out on their own, which takes time because the place is dangerous. You will develop more patience by doing that. You'll learn to put other things, other your own imperfect instincts, in your trust because it's a selfless deed.
You'll discover that not everything is within your power, and that sometimes, just being present—truely being there physically and mentally—will allow the universe to lift you out of a difficult situation when you are unable to do so on your own.
Human beings. Weak is a good description of us.
