"Love, are you done?" tanong ni Elijah mula sa kwarto.

Sabi ko nga, ngayon ang appointment ni baby. Nagpapalit palang ako habang si Elijah ay naghihintay na sa labas. Kanina pa siya nakabihis.

"Patapos na ho," sagot ko.

"What's taking so long?" pumasok siya. Susuotin ko na sana ang sapatos pero bigla siyang lumapit sa akin at lumuhod. Kinuha niya ang sapatos at isinuot ito sa akin. Shet, para akong Cinderella ngayon ah. Nandito ang aking prince charming.

"Alrighty, it's done." Tumitig siya sa mga mata ko.

"Thanks, love." I gave him a peck on the lips.

"Kulang po," he whispered.

"Stop, baka malalate pa tayo," tawa kong sabi.

"Hmmp, okay fine. Baka naiinip na ang baby ko."

Habang nagmamaneho si Elijah, biglang tumawag si tita. He picked up his phone and brought it to his ear. "Yes, Ma?" sabi niya.

"Now?" huminto siya. "We're going to an appointment today," he added. "Okay, love you too."

"Ano daw sabi?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Gusto sana niya na magbonding kayo ngayon, pero sinabi ko na may appointment tayo sa doctor," he explained.

"Pwede naman mamaya, after the appointment."

"Gusto kita masolo," he winked.

"Ano ba! Araw-araw tayo nagkikita," kilig kong sagot.

"Let's see mamaya."

"Mrs. Villanueva?" tawag ng sekretarya.

"Here," sagot ni Elijah.

"Mukha na ba akong misis?" I laughed.

"You look like a Mrs. Quinn," he joked.

"Alam mo, kahit kailan palabiro ka. Are you always like this?" I palmed my face.

"No, I'm just like this sa mga taong malapit sa akin."

"Good morning!" the doctor greeted as we entered.

"Oh my gosh, is that you, Elijah?" tanong ng doctor. Tumango na lamang si Elijah.

"You've grown! When was the last time I saw you?" she added.

"Tita, how are you po?" he asked.

"I'm fine." She smiled.

"This is?" she asked again.

"My girlfriend, Valerie."

"Wow, such a fine woman," she complimented.

"Thank you po," I smiled.

"Humiga ka dito, hija." She pointed to the bed in front of us. I went there and did as instructed.

"Let's see." She paused and rubbed gel on my stomach. She placed a device afterwards and began moving it. "Look, eto yung baby niyo. It looks like it's doing fine. Your baby is very much healthy," she pointed out to the screen.

"Do you want to hear its heartbeat?"

"Yes, please!" Elijah excitedly said, like he was a kid who just bought a toy from a store.

She did something on a device and the baby's heartbeat started to sound. It echoed throughout the room. Lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub. It was tiny.

"Beautiful," Elijah whispered.
