I've been awake for a long time now. Sitting here, writing this story about some kids who think it's all about them. But before I get into that, let me introduce you to a young, cocky rat who thinks that they are the most important character. At the moment, they are. I mean, you are reading about them right now?

Dragging her heavy bag along the ground, Joanne announces she is suddenly uninterested in the project she chose to do. "You know." She says to the small mouse.
"I wanna research something else. That's probably waaaaay more interesting than whatever this stupid project is." The mouse squinted.
"Joanne. You can't just LEAVE ME in the MIDDLE OF A PROJECT??"
"Oh-h yes I can. Anything is better than this." Joanne threw her bag at the mouse and enthusiastically ran as if she'd... been told to do a project I guess.
"Joanne! WAIT! I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS E-" The mouse screamed as Joanne scampered around the corner of a house. She didn't look back. And she never will.
As Joanne tripped up the stairs leading to the porch, she unlocked the double doors and gently...slammed it behind her as quickly as she could. The rat ran up to the small, old libary and frantically searched for a book. She picked up an dusty, grey book with aged pages and water stains. It read 'the legends and myths of nebula and unknown'. Blowing the dust off the book, she flicked through the pages and folded one over, shoved the book into her satchel, put on her boots and leather gloves, grabbed her sunglasses and left.
Tripping back down the stairs leading away from the porch, Joanne took a deep breath and walked down a untrodden path towards the woods. This is where the book said she could find more about Nebula. The dew on the grass on the leaves began to loose it's glow as the rat went deeper into the forest...
"A!" Joanne yelped, sliding over a slimy rock. She adjusted her gloves and boots and bent down to examine the rock. Brushing off the leaves, she ran her palm along the enscriptions on the rock. Then setting the book down next to the enscriptions, she found the page that was folded over and took out a small piece of paper. Joanne kneeled down and put the paper into the slot. A green liquid ran down a groove in the mud, revealing a large stone doorway.
"Oh seriously! No one told me this was gonna be like the darkest room ever......" She quickly jolted her head to the left where a figure in full armour dragged themselves infront of Joanne.
"Leave." The figure grasped Joannes hand and threw her over their shoulder, kicked her back out and slashed her with their sword.
"You know you should not of come here." The figure stepped back into the darkness and the doors closed infront of them. The liquid ran back up the groove and the paper ejected itself onto Joanne's chest. She lay there in the wet grass, hand grasped over the bleeding cut and curled up against the stone. Her eyes shut slowly as she began to bleed more.....
