Blood and flesh, a mound of it, what once men with hopes, dreams, family, and a life became nothing more than a carcass, worth no more than a slaughtered corpse of a cow.

Limbs, heads, organs became paste and splattered all over as those who were unlucky enough to survive the initial barrage scream and pleaded for yet as they had been maimed, they cried for their Moms like they had for so long as a child, their screams soon went silent.

The artillery barrage came in full force almost as soon as the gates allowed light into the tunnel.

Once the barrage through the human wall of men it ran against the armored vehicles.

Screeching was heard as the artillery and gun barrage hit the armored vehicles but couldn't penetrate its armor .... yet.

The sheer scale and of the barrage meant that eventually they would damage the armor, they had to move forward and destroy the entrenchments before that could happen.

They moved forward, unable to see in front of them from the cloud of smoke from the enemy fire.

They moved but soon fell into a ditch, the ditch was too low, the APCs gun could engage the enemy and the slope was too steep, they were stuck.

The barrage above them went on unrelenting; their troops couldn't move forward.

The men disembarked from their APC to combat the enemy but they soon found that explosives had been placed in the ditch, they too became red paste, the APC got a new paint job.

This went on for sometime, unable to move the troops simply withstood the barrage the best they could bearing heavy casualties doing so as they attempted to rearrange their formation to bring the heavy armor forward within the small confines of the tunnel.

The men of Pioneer 2 simply stayed in the APC unable to do anything as the sounds of war rang around them.

The tanks came up, the 50 caliber guns fitted to the M59 APC could shred through walls or people but could do nothing but against a well entrenched enemy, the 80mm cannons of the M48 Patton could.

Their thick front armor could withstand the barrage far longer than the APCs, it's cannon ripped apart the entrenchment, soon the flamethrower M48s moved near the front of the formation, the constant explosions in the ditch in front of the gate had collapsed a section of it, it was still a steep slope, but it could be moved on and so they did.

Machine gun and cannon fire from the Saderian army and American Marines fired at each other, the flamethrower tanks got a good shot of the trenches and they took it.

The ammunition and men of the trench were burnt a crisp, slowly and painful as their blood boiled whilst they were still alive and their skin blackened as they screamed for the gods for their mercy, those who weren't burned suffocated as the flame sucked away the air around them.

One of the tanks in the front moved forward then was suddenly hit in the back by a cannon, it's engine exploded almost instantly along with its crew inside.

Another moved but was paralyzed as a mine exploded its tracks, for every American they killed we killed 3 of them.

Another tank killed as a shell from some kind of steam powered tank hit its back where its engine was located.

The Saderian were being destroyed but the Americans had to pay a heavy price for it, they were bleeding, bleeding rivers of blood.
