Repeating Heartbeat
This is the title of a rather popular romance novel. It is popular because the author is still rather young but is known for exceptional writing skills.
The novel is about two lovers who promised to love each other till death but that promise seemed to test them. Each time they died, they were born again and found each other. Their love never seem to run out and they always recognized each other no matter what they looked like.
My friends were all talking about this novel so I borrowed it and decided to read it that night. It had a good plot but what frustrated me, was the female lead. Kia was written as a weak person. She was always the most misfortuned person out of the two.
Despite her beauty, she was used as a puppet. Even the male lead saw her as a beautiful puppet to use. Raymond was a powerful and handsome man just like in every romance book. Despite controlling her, he loved her dearly because of her kind persona.
In some way, she reminded me of myself. I wasn't beautiful like her but I've been used so many times. By friends, by family.
I truly hope Kia can escape her prison. Imagine being used for centuries and never changing.
I closed my eyes as I thought about this. It doesn't look like a happy ending to me. This novel wasn't really all that good.
