...

The day had already passed by so quickly, it was baffling considering the two teens were inside the whole damn day. Before they knew it the night was starting to creep up on them. Sarah and our dear and foolish boy Alex had spent the day making things out of arts and crafts supplies, they made cookies but Alex didn't want any because he hates sweets, they played video games and watched a movie together once it started to get dark outside. It was a nice horror movie, one with lots of blood and  gore in it. Sarah was definitely terrified, but the boy was there to comfort her. Once that was over and done with, Alex found out that Sarah even plays the guitar, how neat!

He's always wanted to learn but hasn't had the time nor guitar to do so. He tried out Sarah's guitar, played some chords and was actually pretty good. Well, good for only knowing a few notes. "Hey, you're learning quick!" That was something that he had remembered was Sarah telling him that. It made him feel smart, like he was talented despite so many years of thinking he wasn't. It was a nice thing to feel. He wanted to learn more as far as guitar goes, but also more about Sarah. She was so full of surprises as it seemed.

Well, you aren't wrong.

The night was silent and dark. Tanya was home, Sarah asleep in her room, and Alex was on the couch just staring into the darkness of the living room. He was supposed to go with Sarah a long time ago but he just didn't. He sat on the couch and stared instead. This was because he was deep in thought, remembering things. Was this still all too good to be true? Was he being lied to? Is there a catch to all this? The insecurity was drowning out his sanity, he felt like he was being sucked into a whirlpool of doubt and he hated it. Every second of it.

And-- oop. The light turned on. Tanya walked into the living room and saw the state of what looked to be panic that Alex was in, walking over in front of him and crouching down to his level. It's so weird how that woman is so much taller than him. "Hey, you alright?" She asked in a low but comforting tone. She was concerned as her brows were furrowed and her body language was soft and unprovoking. If that makes any sense of course, it makes perfect sense to me at least. The boy had wanted to tell her what was going on, why he was like this. Screw it, might as well. "I-I'm a bit.. scared. Why is Sarah being so nice to me?" He asked in the quietest meekest voice he's ever spoke in. "She likes you, that's why. But I must warn you of something." Tanya replied. Alex had previously figured she knew Sarah better than he did, so he listened.

Instead of a warning however, she stood up. "Follow me." She said. Alex stood up and walked with her to the room with the weapons in it. She walked inside without turning on a light nor making a sound. She saw as Alex went to speak, but she covered his mouth. She pointed at a light in the corner, a small red one the size of a thumbtack. It flashed. That's a camera, isn't it. Oh shit he had lied to Sarah last morning about the gun, fuck! Tanya dragged him out of the room as his anxiety spiked.

"Be lucky I got to the footage first. You can't lie around here, she will find out everything." Tanya sounded on edge, menacing, and overall like she knew something he didn't. She probably does though. This whole experience spooked Alex a lot more than he thought it would've, and when Tanya started to walk away he had grabbed her hand. "Did she set those up?" "Yes." "Why??" "She needs to know everything. There's a reason I'm moving out." The few words that were exchanged were quiet and cold, panicky at best. Tanya released herself from the boy's grasp and walked off. Alex stood there in the kitchen however, waiting. For.. something. He looked around before eventually just returning to the couch to regret things.

That's what he does best at least. He was there for about 2 hours, thinking about how things could've been. What if his parents didn't hate him? What if he never came into Nevada? Whatever. He was just confusing himself at this point purely to keep himself occupied. He always felt the need to be occupied with something. If he wasn't occupied with something then he would go crazy, and do everything possible to keep himself occupied. Even if that means sitting and thinking about things-- no matter how bad they could possibly be-- for a good few hours until he had something to do. And right when he felt like he had come to a conclusion, someone so conveniently walked in. "Alex, why don't you come to bed?"

A weary teen had called from the doorway of her room. His gaze snapped over to her upon the sound of her voice, the bad thoughts starting to melt away again. "Was about to, sorry love." The boy answered before getting up and walking over to her. She opened her arms up as he approached, the boy gladly accepting the gesture and giving her a warm hug. "I could fall asleep right here, I swear." She had said, making Alex chuckle for a second. "No, you won't." He said, scooping her up and carrying her to bed. He was tired enough to sleep thankfully, so that shouldn't be an issue any longer. He laid her down and climbed under the covers himself, keeping her close by. He appreciated that she let him cuddle her at night, it helped with his nightmares a lot. She had already made herself comfortable by the time the boy was dozing off at last, the light breathing from the other indicating that she had fallen asleep already.

Maybe this is all a dream, because it'll for damn sure be a nightmare soon.
