When he wasn't wearing a jacket, they were obvious thin, white gashes on his wrist. Sam just regarded them as scars Dean'd got in a fight or something.
Cas, on the other hand, knew something was up. The angel could read Dean Winchester like a book by now, and that means he knew the difference between how he used to act and now. The hunter never smiled anymore. No, not that fake smile, but Dean's real smile, the one Castiel loved.
It was now, 12 am, that Castiel decided to confront Dean on the matter. But how to do so? Calmly and carefully, the trenchcoat wearing deity knew was the best way to do this, in spite of the fact human beings baffled him.
"Dean?"The former's voice said behind the man, it was a soft, loving tone.
"What?"The latter testingly replied.
"Why are those on your arm...those scars?"Cas asked, knowingly.
"It's nothing."Dean lied.
"It doesn't look like 'nothing.' It must be something."Castiel remarked.
"Cas, don't worry about it."Dean sighed, tugging at his jacket sleeve
"Dean, when I look into your eyes, my heart beats faster than normal. I feel weak, and yet, strong. I feel confused and lost, but when I'm with you, this feels natural."Castiel gushed, his face turning a deep shade of red that Dean couldn't exactly pinpoint."Basically, I...I love you."
"It's...I...you..."Dean was at a lost for words.
Castiel felt emberrassed, he should have known Dean wouldn't feel the same. He started to mess with the belt on his trenchcoat.
"Cas?"Dean finally said, getting up from the ground."I love you too."
It was one of those moments, as if it were a movie. They knew what the other was thinking and their lips met, both of them blushed the same shade that Cas had earlier. The two pulled apart for oxygen, and sat on the ground.
Dean begain to quitely hum a certian classic rock song by Kansas and the two sat there, in comfertable near-silence.
