Liam's POV
Walking down the halls of the palace I noticed people running around setting up things and placing things down. It was abuzz with excitement, loud with people talking and gossiping. I smiled at the maids that ran past to get things prepared. They paused for a second to bow then continued to their destination. The halls stretched ahead of me as I made my way to the throne room. The marble walls towered above me as I looked up at them. A portrait of the royal family of Danji hung on the tall wall. I stopped to admire my family. We stood together in a group, my father, King Hector, and my mother, Queen Natalie standing behind my brothers and I. My siblings, Lawrence, Tobias and I looked extremely different from one another. Lawrence, the oldest, stood tall and proud as he always did. The heir is always proud and strong in everything. He wore a bright smile, his midnight black hair smoothed down to perfection which fitted him well. My equally dark hair was ruffled and wild, how I liked it. I smiled at the goofy smile on my face as I rested my arm against my younger brother, Tobias. His golden blonde hair was more like a neat ruffle and looked great against his lightly tanned skin, he bore no smile just a look of annoyance as his hazel eyes stared daggers at the camera.
Tobias stood out from the rest of us, as Lawrence, mother, father, and I all had the dark hair and blue eyes like the rest of the Danjian race. Tobias was tan but it had a different look than the rest of us. Ours were more olive tone while his was more of a yellow. I couldn't help but pity him, my half younger brother, a bastard.
I walked away from the portrait and continued to the throne room where some of the guests had arrived. I quickly made my way there smiling to myself at the thought of the people who waited there for me. I came across the door quickly and placed my hands on both and pushed them open. Light poured out from the room as the glass ceiling allowed it to. It was bright and I heard the guards at the door announce my presence. A group of people stood in the middle standing in front of the rest of my family. I smiled as one turned at the mention of my name. His golden hair shone in the sunlight and a smile was spread across his face, his hazel eyes found mine. I quickly made my way over to him. Wrapping him in a hug squeezing him a little too hard. "It's been too long." He said pulling away.
"Yes, yes it has, Prince Micah of Varenerae." He flushed at the mention of his title.
"Drop the formalities, we're the same age." He pushed some of his blonde hair out of his face. "How have you been, Liam?" I smiled at him; I had missed him so much that it started to hurt.
"Good, great now." I hugged him again and turned to the rest of the Varenerae Royal Family only to find Micah's siblings. Turning back to Micah with a confused expression.
"My mother fell ill, and my father stayed with her and to continue to run the nation." I nodded smiling down at his siblings. The nations of Varenerae and Danji were some of the closest allies on the continent, everyone in Danji loved the Varenraese people.
"Prince Liam, Prince Liam," Micah's little sister tugged on my shirt. "Are you still thinking about what I asked you the last time we visited?" Samantha, the second oldest, had the same features as her brother but her hair was curlier.
"Samantha!!" Micah flushed, he got embarrassed quite easily. I liked to tease him.
"What? I just asked if he'd marry me, what's so wrong with that?" I laughed, Samantha was only about eleven years old, and I was twenty-one.
"Oh, Micah is just jealous that you asked first." Micah blushed bright red. Samantha then wrapped her arms around me.
"He's mine, you idiot." Samantha moved closer to me.
"Th-that is n-not the reason." When he finally got his words out, he gently pulled Samantha away from me. I almost doubled over from laughter. "Oh, shut up you big headed idiot." He slapped my head. I looked up at him with a seductive glare.
