The next morning Prue was up by 4 in the morning, the young girl sitting at her desk as she fiddled around with her tablet, drawing design's of a new suit, she wanted to build one for fun, but it was very different to her spider-suit. This time it was more based off Captain America's suit, but more girly, with a red and white skirt, a solid blue top with a white star, red boots, and her favourite the half mask, one that covered her eyes.
She spent another hour or so working on the design, cutting certain things out, adding things she liked. When she looked at the time she found that it was almost 5:30 in the morning, stretching her arms above her head and letting a loud yawn leave her lips, saving all her work she shut the tablet down, making her way down the stairs into the kitchen, she noticed that Voight wasn't awake just yet, so Prue decided she would make some food for them both, grabbing the ingredient's for pancakes Prue started putting the batter together as she preheated a pan. Smiling to herself the young girl hummed an old lullaby to herself.
Voight woke to the smell of delicious food, getting up from his bed he made his way down the stairs to see Prue making pancakes, the young girl he knew could not know he was behind her, she was to into what she was doing. Prue almost, almost rolled her eyes. "Good morning." She said turning to face the older man. "Hope you don't mind, but I was hungry and wanted to eat pancakes." She said to him as she placed the plate of pancakes in front of him.
Voight blinked in surprise that she had known he was behind her, but sat down all the same, taking some of the pancakes and eating them. "No bother, you can use the kitchen whenever you want." He said to her as she sat down. "How long have you been awake for?" He asked her.
Prue looked at the clock and then turned back to him, "woke up at about 4." She answered. "Had an idea wanted to sketch it out before I forgot anything." She continued as she poured the syrup onto her pancakes.
"You're gonna drown your pancakes." Voight said to the young woman.
Prue looked at the older man, then back to her pancakes. "Eh, it's a good way to go, at least they'll taste nice." Prue grinned as she continued to drown the pancakes on her plate, Voight chuckled before continuing on with his own breakfast. The young girl could really cook, it was quite a surprise, he wasn't used to someone else cooking. "So, what are we doing today?" She asked as she bit into her food.
"I'll be at work today, you can stay here if you want, though you can come with, I can give you something to do." Voight said to the girl. He watched as she thought over the options and nodded.
"Yeah, I'll come with you." She said with a nod of her head.
Finishing her breakfast, Prue quickly washed her dish and put it up to dry. She made sure everything she had used was cleaned up before running up to her room. Changing quickly into a white summer dress and brown sandals. She made sure to pack all her things into a backpack before grabbing a blue denim jacket. Skipping downstairs, Prue sat down on the couch as she fiddled with her phone, it wasn't much longer until Voight walked down the stairs to see Prue already waiting for him.
"You ready?" He asked in his deep voice. Prue nodded before jumping up onto her feet and making her way after the older man, still playing on her phone.
Once in the truck Voight drove them to the precinct, Prue was still playing on her phone that even Voight was interested in what she was doing. "What are you doing kid?" he asked her gently not wanting to annoy her too much.
Prue blinked before looking up. "Just doing an update check, some of the system was being slow." She answered. "I like to make sure everything is good to go, so nothing bad happens to it, it also helps that the locator on my phone will continue to work even when off." She continued.
Voight hummed. "Good feature to have." He said to her. "Do we just put your number into a system, and it work?" He asked her as he pulled into his spot, Prue slipping out first.
"No, I can add the feature to your phone if you'd like, basically you'd know where I was at all times." She said smiling gently.
"I'd like that very much kid." Voight said to her as they stepped inside the building. Voight going over to the front desk gathering all the files that were intended for him. Prue waited by the caged door, watching the people walking past. She smiled as Jay Halstead walked up to her.
"Hey Prue, how are you this morning?" He asked her with a smile as he tried to get inside, but the machine was being a bit weird.
"I'm okay, a bit tired, but that's because I was awake at like four this morning." Prue said frowning as Jay tapped the top of the machine, cursing it. "Calm down Jay." Prue said as she chuckled before grabbing her little tool bag. Jay watched as Prue started pulling the machine apart. "The wires are fried, damn that's sad." She muttered as she then pulled her own wires out of her bag, connecting them to the machine.
Jay was entirely impressed with the young girl, as she finished putting the scanner back together. Hearing a beep Jay put his hand on the scanner her heard the locks click, letting him inside the room. "Good job kid." Jay said just as Voight came up behind them.
"What are you doing kiddo?" Voight asked her.
Prue smiled. "Just fixing the scanner, the wires inside were fried, like if they didn't get changed sooner fried, this place would smell like smoke, a lot of smoke and a bit hot for normal people." She stated before skipping up the stairs, not seeing the looks she was getting from both Jay and Voight.
"She does realise she just saved everybody right?" Jay questions. Voight just shakes his head before they both got up the stairs.
