{Chapter 8}
Daisy walked Melinda into a small quiet room so she wasn't around a lot of people and there wasn't a lot of loud noises. When it was just the two of them was when Daisy began to ask questions, "What happened in Bahrain?" Melinda finally calmed down and sat down so she wasn't standing on her bad leg. Daisy sat down across from her and looked her in the eyes as she waited for her mother to tell her what happened. "I went in and I had to fight the soldiers and agents in there because they kept repeating 'I want your pain' and after I fought some of them, I was lead to who I was trying to stop. A woman named Ava who I thought was controlling the men but it wasn't her. It was her daughter, Katya, who was controlling them. Looking into her eyes made me think of how you were when you had received your powers and how scared you were. How you had no control of them in the beginning was how she was like because she had no one to help her control and keep from hurting others. I am upset that what happened today could've happened to you and that is why I can't deal with the fact that what I had to do today could've been done to you." Melinda explained as tears fell down her face. Daisy softened at the way her mother was expressing her emotions right now. She knew that what happened to her was going to give her some PTSD and anxiety. Daisy pulled her mother into a hug and held her for as long as her mother would allow her to. When her mother finally pulled away, she saw a change in her mom's facial expression that made her confused. She was stoic and emotionless towards everything. Melinda got up from the table and walked out making Daisy's eyes widened and follow after her. Melinda walked out into the open and had her arms crossed and Daisy stood behind her to see what she is doing. The team sees Melinda as well and wondered what she is doing as she walked over to Aaron. He looked at her curiously at what she wanted. "I want to help you on this case." Melinda tells him with assertiveness. The team, along with Daisy, looked at her surprised that she wants to help them on the case they are on. Aaron crossed his arms at her and she copied him to seem intimidating. "You are an assistant. You can't choose to work on this case." Aaron tells her making her glare at him, "Why not?" He gestured to JJ, "JJ is the only way you can go on these cases and since you weren't called, you must head back." Melinda glared at him which made him feel very terrified at what she could and would do. Daisy looked at her boss with anger at what he said to her mother, "What?!" David scolded his friend, "Hotch!" Aaron looked at him and explained what he was doing, "Look, I am following my orders by Strauss. So she has to go home." Melinda looked at him with an 'I'm gonna kill you' look before walking passed him, not before harshly hitting his shoulder on the way out. Aaron staggered back at the brute force from the woman who he made mad. Daisy stepped up to her boss with an upset look, and he knew that he was deep in it with the mother and daughter duo. "Why would you say that? Especially to my mother!" "Daisy-" "Forget it! My mom had just gone through something traumatic, changed personality in a second, and wants to help us but you won't let her! Why? Have you ever not listened to Strauss before?" Daisy snipped and Aaron went to reply then closed his mouth when he realized how right she was. Daisy scoffed at him before getting back to work.
