I finally arrive at Heyward's shop. I walk inside the shop and see JJ, Pope and Kiara all helping Heyward with selling and stacking groceries.
"Oh, Y/n! Hey!" Kiara exclaims, coming up and giving me a hug.
Everyone else greets me with a hug.
Pope decides to bring up the topic about last night. He is still freaking out about what could happen and if he could get into trouble.
"Don't let it get in your head, Bro. There's three of them and two of us. That's some typical Kook shit right there." JJ comments.
"Hell yeah." Kie adds.
"What was your thought process, using your head?" JJ questions.
"I don't know, Man. I just kind of acted off instinct, all right? I was a cornered animal." Pope responds.
"Hey, Pope!" Heyward walks into the shop through the front door. The four of us instantly turn our heads to him. "There's someone here to see you."
Deputy Shoupe walks into the shop.
"Evening, Officer." Pope stutters nervously.
"I have an arrest warrant for felony destruction of property." Shoupe informs.
Pope and I turn to JJ. He shakes his head lightly, unnoticeable to everyone else.
"What?" Heyward questions.
"Hands where I can see em'." Shoupe orders. Shoupe walks over to Pope and starts getting handcuffs out of his pocket. Kie, JJ and I all stand there, shocked and unsure of what is happening.
"Woah, woah, woah. Wait. Shoupe, what'd he do? Huh?" Heyward asks.
"Take a look at the warrant." Shoupe replies, putting the handcuffs on Pope. Pope stands there with his hands behind his back. I can see the terrified look in his face.
"Sorry, you're arresting him?" Kie questions.
"You can't do that." I add.
"You're just arresting my boy?" Heyward asks.
"What's the proof?" JJ questions.
"Be careful!" Kie exclaims.
"Anything you say can and will be held against you in the court of law." Shoupe tells. "You have the right to an attorney."
"How much did they pay you, Man?" JJ asks, his voice starting to get angry. "How much did they pay you?"
Shoupe starts leading Pope out of the shop. The rest of us follow after them, all making comments about Pope's arrest. Pope doesn't change the petrified look on his face.
We get out of the shop and Shoupe walks closer and closer to the police car. JJ starts getting a little more angry with the officer.
We all continue arguing with Shoupe. Everyone is so anxious and the situation keeps getting worse and worse.
JJ stops behind us all. Shoupe is about to shove Pope into the back of the police car.
"It wasn't him!" JJ shouts. We all turn our heads to JJ, all of us full of confusion. "It was me." JJ continues. My heart sinks. JJ slowly starts walking closer to us. "He tried to talk me out of it, but I was mad because he had just been beaten up. I was so sick of those assholes from Figure Eight that I lost my shit." JJ stands in between Pope and Shoupe. Tears start to fill my eyes. "I can't let you take the blame for something I did. You've got too much to lose."
