You've gotten your degree for medicine but you've been laying low. Honestly you think he's the most amazing person to ever step foot in Lucia, not everyone has treated you the way you've wanted to be treated, and turns out, Huck also had to deal with that problem when he started working in Lucia St. Hospital. Huck served in World War II, During service, he was caught by a German Nazi soldier who put a Colt 1911 to his temple and pulled the trigger. The gun jammed, but before either Huck or the German soldier could react, a mortar hit their position, which killed the German Nazi soldier. Huck survived the mortar fire, but was left with extensive burns and wounds to his left side. But you didn't mind, he was still human to you. Nothing else. Huck invited you to a dance not so long ago and it's at his work place. Your excited to go but also kind of nervous too. ————————————— day of the dance. —————————- as you awakened quickly and stretched, you realized that it was 11:48 Am. You sighed in relief, You went to the restroom and brushed your teeth thoroughly, reaching every nook and cranny. You went to your kitchen and made yourself a small breakfast, Eggs and spam which is a common bland meal but you didn't mind, as long as your tummy was full.. After devouring your meal, you changed into your casual outfit and went out to buy a dress and maybe some new heels perhaps. You wanted to look stunning for the dance because you were nervous about what people thought about you, you wanted to make a great first impression. You found a nearby store called. "Louve's Dresses & footwear". it sounded like a decent store, besides it had both 'Dresses and footwear'. Before stepping in you took a quick look at the window with the mannequin and went inside. You looked at the selection carefully, making sure to not miss anything. "Need any help ma'am?" A woman asked you. "Oh no, thank you for asking." You browsed for a while until you found a beautiful silk F/C dress. You also found a beautiful young woman wearing Hucks work uniform but a female version if it,. You got interested and curious so you asked, "Sorry, but, Do you work at Lucia St. Hospital by any chance?"You asked with curiosity. "Oh it's fine and yes I do, i'm a trainee though." She said with a light smile. " Oh that's nice, I have a close friend that works there as well." You said confidently. She seemed like a nice woman after all. "Nice to know, what's their name?" She asked. "His name is Huck, Huck Finnigan." You answered with a big smile. "Ohh, so your Y/N? Huck loves you honey, he talks about you every second of the day nonstop!" She told you while letting out a few giggles. You didn't know how to feel about what she said but you did know for sure your feelings for him weren't like that. "What, that's silly!" You said while letting out an awkward chuckle- " May I ask why your here?" You asked. "Oh me? i'm here because i'm going to the dance as well and I want to look lovely for my boyfriend..before they..Never mind that!" she said about to shed a tear on the last sentence. "Oh alright. I guess i'll see you later then!" You said. "Yeah, the names Dolly by the way." she said smiling, her face looked like it was crafted by the hands of angels from the heavens. Her smile was even better, her lips the shape of a cupids bow and the color of blood, she was stunning. Besides your small interaction, you went to the front and bought your dress and left. The time was 2:19 pm so you decided to get a quick snack before you started getting ready for the dance. You decided to go home and start getting ready, you took you time on your makeup and clothing, firmly applying the lipstick on your lips and brushing on the blush on your cheeks. It was pretty fun doing it, like if your life depended on this party.. You walked out of your house and got in your car and started the engine. The Hospital wasn't as far as you expected, And it was pretty big too. As you drove closer to the gates your heart started racing with anxiety, what if they don't like me, what if i'm not pretty enough, what if i'm not perfect? You drove slowly as the gates opened and you took a deep breath to calm down. You parked your car and got out, You were greeted with with friendly smiles. "Hello! you must be Y/N! It's very nice to finally meet you." said a woman "It's very nice meeting you to!" you said while you shake her hand. "Do you know your way in?" She asked. "No I don't." You said. "Come this way!" She said while walking toward the building. She lead you to a room where there was people dancing, chatting, and in general, just having fun. "Wow! This looks fun!" You said with excitement in your voice. "It sure does, my name is Gwendolyn Briggs.I hope you have fun." She said. "Thank you, I wish you a very good time too." You said while walking away looking for Huck. "Where the hell is Huck.." you whispered under your voice. "Good evening, you must be..?" A short man walked up to you and said. He looked around 5'0? "Y/n. Y/n L/n, it's nice to meet you." You said while shaking his hand, it was cold and felt rubbery. It almost felt as if you were touching a corpse. "My name is Dr. Richard Hanover, I'm very pleased to meet you...Would you like to dance with me?". You stared at this sly devil nervously, "should i dance with him?" you thought, Huck wasn't there and he might've stood you up.. "It would be an honor, Doctor." you said while slowly caressing his hand and gently gripping on it, he looked at you with a smile and led you to the dance floor, soft and slow music started to play and love started to flow in the air. He looked at you with a look nobody has ever given you, a soft adorable look, you loved it. "Excuse me but i think you're dancing with MY man." a woman with short bangs said. "Oh pardon me, your man? i'm so sor-" before you can finish your sentence, the woman pushed you away and clasped her hands around Richards neck. "Betsy lets not do this right now.." Richard said with an awkward smile while trying to get away from her, "But sweetheart, who is this woman? why are you dancing with her? YOU asked ME to the dance not her!!" she said, every word getting louder and louder. "I only did it because Mildred told me to, I don't want you at all, your nothing to me, if you think for a SECOND that I would EVER want you, then think twice because you've gone mad!" he shouted, betty completely backing off and looking at you with the most intense look, like if she wanted to rip your face apart until only your muscles were the only thing left on your face. "You dirty bitch!" she said, while pushing you into a table with a fountain of punch, everyone gasping in disbelief, how could betsy do that? He didn't even belong to her, what a delusional woman.. Huck came to the rescue and he stared at betsy with a horrid look, i could tell he wanted to kill her at that very moment "Besty what did you do! Why did you push her?!" he said while helping me up. "Are you alright? lets go to the washroom.." he said while he took me, it wasn't that far thankfully and when we arrived he stood outside waiting, while you washing yourself off. "What did i do wrong?" you thought to yourself "i treated everyone with respect i tried backing off but she just... Blew up?". You washed your face off and tried removing the red punch from your dress but it seemed like it was gonna stain, "oh great! I just got this dress!!" you said while throwing the paper towel away and bursting out of the restroom. "Are you okay Y/N?" Huck said while he heard the restroom door swing open and hit the wall, you didn't respond. The only response he heard was the clicking of your heels, you swayed your arms back and forth, full of rage and your eyes filled with small tears. Richard saw you leave the restroom and he followed you outside. "Ms. Y/N! Wait!" he shouted while you continued to walk. "Ms. Y/N, i'm sorry for what happened back there!" he cried while continuing to follow you to your car, you stood there with your keys in your hand. "How can I make this up to you?". Richard grabbed your hands and clasped them together. "Well...Take me out for dinner?" you said while looking down, hiding your runny mascara. "Oh, Okay.. Where?" he said while looking at your with a slight smile.., you swept him off his feet and you knew that. "of course, where are you going to be taking me?" you questioned, "the beach, theres a nice restaurant on the docks that i think you'd be interested in." he said while letting go, you smiled at him. "okay, sure heres my number" you wrote on a note pad you had in your purse and gave it to him, you two exchanged smiles and you drove home,
