One of the biggest problems of this ummah is?
The state of our hearts. We are raised to be so materialistic from such a young age that we associate our happiness, our wellbeing to "things". We make this world and "things" that it offers as our sources of joy, relief, happiness and guess what, this world and all that it contains are TEMPORARY. Our hearts were never meant to be filled up this way. Then what is the health of the heart?
CONNECTION with its MAKER, ALLAH Who is eternal, only He is PERMANENT. Hearts that are attached to Allah are CONTENT, these hearts do not despair, these hearts do see sad days and unpleasant phases of life but they're compensated by the hope of better days, these hearts are grateful, patient and humble. People who bear these hearts make the most of their days, good or bad they say "Alhamdulillah ala kulli haal", All praises and thanks are due to Allah in all circumstances. These hearts pray, supplicate, strive hard and Allah is the One Who rewards these hearts generously with relief, contentment and peace.
Moral of the story: Improve your bond with Allah and you WILL feel better.
