Once upon a time, in Bucharest, Romania in August 5th, 1920. There was a baby who goes by the full name 'Ana Talie' was born to a widow Romanian-Jewish mom who goes by the full name 'Catina Aldea'. Catina has black hair, brown eyes, light-brown skin toned body and she's little bit old, she was also homeless before her daughter was born and had to live in a shelter during World War One. Ana has black hair also but she has blue eyes and pale skin, possibly from her father. Nine years later, Catina decided to move away from Romania by Immigrating to the United States with her daughter to start a new life. Nine year old Ana was playing with her dolls in her room and saw Catina walking inside her room. Ana knew something was up the second she blinked at her mom's face.
"Ana, we need to talk." Catina said she wants to talk to Ana.
"What happened, Mom?" Ana asked.
"So, as you know, we're both a little poor, aren't we?" Catina asked.
"Yes?" Ana replied.
"We are moving away from this country to start a new life in America. So you can go to a new school! Learn a new language! And when you grow up you can do anything!" Catina said.
"I thought the Americans still hated us and didn't want any of us there, Mom." Ana said.
"First of all, darling: Americans don't hate us anymore. Secondly: aren't you too young to know what happened twelve years ago?" Catina asked as she was laughing.
"Okay, I'll go with you." Ana said, as she's hugging her mom.
Both Ana and her mother packed their stuff, went to the train station to buy two tickets and take a train to Athens to find the Immigration boat.
It took them a day to get to Athens, they took a car and went to the docks, found the boat, paid for the immigration, went inside and got told by the captain to pick their room and they did so they stayed in it.
A few days later, both Ana and her mom woke up, got out of their room and went on top of the boat to see that they're a few inches away from what immigrants call, the land of the free. Also known as the United States.
"That's it, darling. America, and there is the statue of liberty." Catina said, pointing at the famous statue.
"It looks very big." Ana said.
"I honestly cannot wait to see you make some friends, that way they can help you with anything you want." Catina said.
"What about you, Mom?" Ana asked.
"I'm going to find a better job... Maybe I can sing at a synagogue." Catina said she could work at a synagogue after summer is over.
"It's because you're Jewish." Ana said.
"We are both Jews." Catina said.
"Look, it doesn't matter if you're religious, Ana. At least try not to forget your roots while growing up in this country." Catina told Ana.
"Okay." Ana said.
A few seconds later, Ana, her mom and all the immigrants arrived at Ellis Island. All of the people landed, they've been checked if they have the right to live in the country, Both the girls went into the city of Jersey, got into the back of a truck, went to Manhattan and found a very crappy neighborhood, trash and rats everywhere, they got out and thanked the truck driver, went inside their apartment and it didn't look as bad they thought it would be even though it's kinda dirty.
"Well, it looks like we're going to make some changes." Catina said after she saw how dirty her apartment looks.
Fourteen years later...
