Ashton's POV
I smiled widely as each student walked in my class. It was Friday and everyone was booming with excitement. Luke walked in and I immediately noticed his distress. He seemed so incredibly tired and worn out. My heart broke at the sight.
"Okay, class! How about all of you tell me your plans for the weekend as we wait for breakfast to arrive?"
I pulled up a metal stool and sat there infront of the students and called on them one by one. Some were going to the park, some were going to a party and some were going hiking. It all seemed so cute to me.
"Luke, how about you?"
His head shot up and bit his lip. Clear indication that he was nervous.
"Uh.. Nothing much.."
He mumbled and I left it at that. I felt so bad for him, knowing he was probably just either worried of his weight or just trying to cope. He already looked thin and it would be devastating for him to get more sick.
Breakfast arrived shortly after a few more students chattered about their plans.
"Come get your food!"
I cheered happily and went back to my desk. As predicted, Luke didn't get up.
"Luke, come here a second please."
He didn't look as nervous as he was yesterday to come up to my desk. I gave him a slightly more caloric protein bar.
"Once again, I'm not forcing you to eat it, just encouraging you."
He swiftly checked it and he pouted.
"This.. has a bit more calories.."
He whispered mainly to himself.
"I can give you the same one you had yesterday but I promise it wouldn't hurt you."
He looked at me, tears welling up in his eyes.
"May I use the restroom?"
I frowned and nodded. He put down the bar and quickly went out the door.
Breakfast was now over 15 minutes later and as I was just beginning to get nervous about Luke's whereabouts, he's coming through the door.
His arms are wrapped around himself and he looked like a wreck. He came up to my desk and said,
"I'm sorry about that.."
I shook my head, not wanting him to apologize.
"You have nothing to apologize for, Luke. I know breakfast has passed but if you still want one, that's completely okay and if you don't, I won't pressure you."
He just softly shook his head.
"I feel sick again.. I'll pass.."
"Okay then. Head back to your seat."
He nodded slightly and returned to his desk. There was still alarms screaming in my head, as I had been through something similar to him. I decided to bring him in after Health Class.
