About half an hour later, the train pulled up into Hogsmeade station and a sea of students streamed out. Hurrying with their bags and running to catch the carriages before they where all filled up.

y/n and her friends all climbed into to one of the carriages, stuffing their bags down by their feet and relaxing for the long ride up. When suddenly Oliver let out a small shriek.

"what's, what's that" he said pointing his shaking hand to towards the front of the carriage.

"What's, what" leah said rolling her eyes still in a mood from earlier.

"That"

"Mate there's nothing there" jack replied placing a hand on Oliver's trembling shoulders.

"their called thestrals" a small delicate voice chirped from the carriage in front.
A 3rd year, with long blonde curly hair and bright blue kind eyes, who y/n recognised as Pandora.
"their quite beautiful, however they can only been seen to those who have witnessed death" she finished giving oliver a sad smile, as her carriage set off up the track.

A still silence swept over the carriage, as they all remembers the events that had occurred over oliver's summer.
His mother who worked in the ministry, as head of muggles artefacts, had been killed. One night whilst Oliver and his family where having dinner a man, dressed fully in black, claiming to be doing "his wishes" murdered her, no reason behind it and left before anyone could catch him. Oliver hadn't really been the same since.

y/n leant forwards placing a hand on his leg, giving him a small smile. And with that the carriage pulled forwards.

The group was now sat in the great hall, enjoying the first day of terms feast and watching the sorting ceremony. Sat a little away from them was Remus and his friends. This year their group had expanded since y/n last noticed they had joined another well known group in Gryffindor. Lily Evans's group, including Mary macdonald, Lily of course and Marlene Mckinnon. They were all laughing and chucking bits of food about, y/n smiled as she caught sight of Remus's broad grin, one she never saw at home.

"oi, not gonna leave us are you" leah said clicking her figures in front of y/n's face.

y/n just rolled her eyes,
" i mean i should probably try and make friends with the girls this year, Leah, i mean it's okay for you, you have Maddy in your dorm, i'm in theirs and for 3 years now i've barley said hi"

Leah just scoffed looking down at her plate " just don't be leaving us"

"would i dare" y/n grinned.

" i wouldn't if i was her" maddy said joining in the conversation " wouldn't want to risk getting my head bashed in by you" she said smirking at leah. Who had a small smile slowly growing on her face.

After dinner they all headed up to common room and sat in one of the free corners.
Jack and oliver pissing about whilst Maddy and Y/n cheered them on. After a long while of silence from Leah's side, y/n looked over confused. She caught her staring intensely at, who would have guessed Remus's group. "for someone, who hates them so much you do stare a lot" y/n chuckled

"it's not fair, why just because their "popular" do they get to sit by the fire in the nice warm, soft chairs" Leah complained.

"mate you're looking into this way too deep" jack commented

" yeah Leah I think it's because they just got there you know before us" y/n replied.

"No! every year they sit there"

" yeah and every year we sit here" Oliver chimed in.

" seriously Leah jealousy is not a good look just get over it alright"

And with that Leah stormed off up to the girls dorm which  her and Maddy shared with two other girls in the year below.

"what is up with her" y/n said

"it's probably something to do with you not writing over the summer or she is really just jealous you know what she's like" jack replied.

"she knows that I can't write with my dad and all"

"don't ask me mate none of us really heard from her in the summer anyway she was a bit quiet"
The others all nodded in agreement

y/n couldn't help but have this horrible feeling something happened over summer that Leah didn't tell them.
