Before the division of Watanagawa, the continent was one. Everyone of all species and elements lived amongst each other. The seven upper gods of the world were all friends, living in harmony. Until one fateful day, the ice god became jealous of how the citizens never cherished him as much as the other gods. He felt alone and betrayed. The ice god covered Watanagawa in eternal snow and chaos. Monsters roamed the land; killing machines. Everyone was refuged to the underground city in Ziran. Defence and war troops were left on the surface to kill off these monsters and save the people underground. The city underground was overpopulated and unsanitary. Many people lived on the streets and only the richest were able to purchase a slum.
War troops died left and right, apart from the elite squad: Yuki, Kazuya, Nekonya, Muki, Sadako, Kaname and Erin. The new seven gods of the world. These people fought for days on end and succeeded to free Watanagawa from the monsters that lurked. They pleaded and begged that the ice god relieve the world from the sheer cold. The god reluctantly agreed and removed the eternal winter engulfing the continent.
Citizens were able to return to their old lives and become happy again. The citizens worshipped the seven warriors, reliving the upper gods from constant worship, so they can finally rest. The seven warriors became the new gods of Watanagawa.

Watanagawa soon returned to the harmonic continent it once was until The King of Yangshin died unexpectedly. Leaving his son to be the new ruler. His son was an evil ruler. He made all species and element wielders divide into their dedicated countries. If the citizens didn't oblige, he planned mass murder of the ones he despised. The King produced propaganda, forcing religion onto citizens, tearing away money and wealth from the species he hates most. Reptiles, dog hybrids and elves all fell into extreme poverty. The King worshipped wolf hybrids and their strength so he took Yangshin, the richest city as his own. Wolves lived in Yangshin, the fire land.
The ice, nature and earth land consisted of slums, scamming and poverty.
The seven gods try to help and try to change The King's perspective on the world but The King refused and threatened to kill the gods if they intervene. Unfortunately, the gods did intervene and were then banished to the underworld by the god of death (a.k.a the last king). The King created a powerful corps called the Shii-Hoshii, murderous and awful people who kill. The people in the corps either want to be there or don't. People join just so they can support their families with their income. The citizens were and still are unaware that The King is behind this evil clan.
He decided that the citizens in Yangshin City are draining him of money, his cruel plan was to kill off half of the population so he can keep the money for himself. The King ordered the Shii-Hoshii to murder as many people as they wanted in the Yangshin City.
