It had been almost a year since he heard from Kylo. The Order had fallen, the New Republic rebuilt. They were both presumed to be dead.

Or so everyone thought.

After being shot by Pryde, Hux was able to defect and left in an Escape Pod. He had no way of contacting Kylo, but they would have thrown him in a Trash Compactor if he had stayed any longer.

He had traveled back to Arkanis, hoping to create some sort of 'New Life'. He hoped that if Kylo had lived, he would find him. That was a year ago, he had given up waiting.

Hux had built a house for himself. Started a little Mecannic shop just outside of town. Many of the locals were very friendly. He had been concerned the first few weeks, but Arkanis was always so far from what happened in the galaxy. No one had a reason to care about him, and that was quite alright with him.

Many nights he sat in his little house on the outskirts of town, thinking if he should just leave everything and go search for Kylo. He was trying to get himself to move on. To forget about what they had gone through together. If Kylo hadn't found him, then he was likely dead, or worse. Maybe he just didn't want to find Hux.

It was a rainy day on Arkanis (as if it wasn't always raining on this depressing planet). It had been a slow day at the shop. Couple of regulars came in for some things or another but that was all.

He was currently sat at his workbench, trying to transfer a specific component into some droid he had found in one of the crash ships he had come across the first week he had arrived on Planet. He heard muffled talking outside the shop, but he just ignored it. He didn't get quite as much time to work on his personal projects, but with all the rain, it had given him time. One thing to be thankful for.

He was staring down at his droid when he heard someone walk in. Not even looking up, he continued with his same thing he said to everyone. Why couldn't this be an easy day.

"And what might I help you with?"

Whoever was standing there didn't say anything back. Hux mentally checked himself where he kept his knives. The town he was in only had about a hundred residents. He tried to quickly finish up what he was doing. Just a few more circuit placements and then sighed slowly looking up to see-.

It was Kylo.

Yes.

No.

Yes, was it him?

Hux only stared back at the man. After all this time. All those lonely nights, and now Kylo was standing right Infront of him.

Kylo only stared back at him. He looked older, almost like he wasn't the same man. Still his Kylo, but fuller, more sure of himself. There were so many things crossing his mind to say to the other man. He wanted to scream, for one. He had every right to be angry with him, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it.

Hux stood up, setting down the droid on his workbench. Kylo still stayed there standing still. He looked as if he was scared almost, like he was expecting to be yelled at. What had he been doing all this time? Why now?

They both stood Infront of each other. They just stared into each other's eyes.

"Kylo-"

In an instant, Hux felt the man's lips firmly press against his own. It was full of all the want and need that had been building up over the past year. Hux was still angry, but his mind became all fuzzy and he was only focused on the man Infront of him.

Kylo broke away, smiling for the first time in Hux doesn't know how long.

"'Hello, Armitage."

Hux pulled himself closer to Kylo, kissing him with enough force to make them both stumble backwards, conveniently shutting the shop's door.

"You have a lot of explaining to do. Don't think I'll just forgive you right away."

Kylo picked Hux up, moving Hux's legs around his torso, hands holding his back so their eyes could meet, carrying him as close as they could possibly be. Such a romantic.

"I know, but no matter where I was, I never stopped looking for you. I found you, and that's what is important."

Hux rested his forehead against Kylo's. Their eyes were locked together. Noses inches apart.

"I love you."

Hux had never said it enough before they were split up but now, they had time. Kylo looked up at him, those same brown eyes that had been with him throughout his life. He brought their lips together for a soft kiss, just to know he was really there.

"I know."
