Chapter 10: The Office, Among Other Things

'Ding!' The elevator opened up to reveal myself, alone. I've got a a bit over three hours until my stream. I told Coco to drop me off here when we were driving from the Uruha household. My intentions here are simple: meet new people. There's more Idols within the rabbit-hole that is Hololive and I'd like to meet 'some' of them. Keyword, 'some'. Reason why is basically because I have limits. I'm not seeing myself in a room with 40 different Idols, I'm seeing myself in a room with 10 different Idols, maybe even 11.

From what I was told, usually when no one's streaming, they're in 'The Office', it's that same room with the couch I met Ayame and Miko in, so I knew where it was. As I make my way towards that very room, I came across a few of the Idols I do know. Gura gave me a "Heya", Miko sent me a "Nyahello~" and A-Chan shot me a "How's it going?" Friend-A counts as an idol right? I thought of that for a while, but quickly dropped it when I want to the Office. To my surprise, there were a lot of girls in there. I thought they had 'busy stream schedules'. "Nyahello again," the redhead said when I walked in. I waved, making my way to an empty seat. There were around 7 of them in here, which is surprising to me. "You're all on a break?" My mouth said for me, I didn't intend to ask that. "Mmhmm. We have similar schedules, so we take breaks at around this time." I look at who just told me, that person being Ayame. Come to think of it, I've never seen her stream...or do any work at all. "Ayame, what do you do here-" The end of my question was cut off by the sudden bursting of the door. "Are you guys hungry?" I again look to whoever just said that, and was met with another blonde. Blue eyes, with blue, black and white clothing. Her hair separates and...there's some red string in it. "Haachama?" Mio was there too, so she asked. "When did you get back to Japan?" "Ah. I got back yesterday actually. That's why I wasn't streaming for a few days." Why did she ask 'who's hungry?' I look at the girl, wondering what her deal was. She eventually spots me, immediately approaching. I shuttered just a bit, but I was okay. "Who are you?" 'Haachama' asked, of course she tilts her head in confusion. "Oh. I'm the new guy." I'm not a guy, but I am new. Miko had stepped up, showing Haachama a video of something. I only heard the audio, but it sounds familiar. Is she showing her my d- "Woaa! We got a kouhai!" So she was. The energetic girl took a closer look at the phone, I'm not sure what she was looking at but when she pulled back, her face looked shocked. "W-woa..Sutōkā-chan, you're blowing up," she said vaguely. I wasn't one to take vague hints, but I took Sakura's phone to look at what the fuse was about. "Calm Stalker Ch. blah-blah.." I read out loud. "..huh, 1.78 million subscribers." This caused everyone besides Haachama to gasp loudly. I look around in confusion. Of course I was shocked, but I don't show emotions...is that a problem? "W-what! But you debuted 2 days ago," that was Mio. That's right. Somehow, after three streams, including the debut, I've managed to get over a million subscribers - which means I'll get two packages soon enough. "Sutōkā." Turning to face who that was, I was surprised. "Yagoo wants to see you," said A-Chan.

The CEO's Office...

We sat across from each other, he had a smile on his face. "I'm baffled, I truly am." I held my head up with my hands, having a smile on my face. It was just for show. "Why is that?" "Oh, you know..." He narrowed his eyes onto his computer, then back at me. "Because you're currently sitting on almost 2 million YouTube subscribers, though you debuted only the day before." Nervous chuckles came out of my mouth, honestly I didn't expect that. "I don't want to keep you here longer. All I want to say is." A chuckle came out of him as well as a new, larger smile. "Keep up the good work."

I walked out of the room, though someone was waiting for me. "Did you get in trouble-peko?" The bunny asked, sounding concerned. "I'm fine, don't worry. He just wanted me to continue working hard." The relief on her face was something I'd never really seen. "You need anything?" I decided to boot up a conversation, as I strolled through the empty hallway. Pekora hopped over to my side, walking alongside me. "Actually," she said, tinted with nervousness. "I was wondering, if you're up to it, if you could come to my house for a..sleepover?" A sleepover? But there's no time- "Sure, I'm free tomorrow evening." When she heard that, the girl shot up with joy. Just like the concern from before, this was something new for me. "R-really-peko?!" Asking for validation, I nod a singular time. "Okay! Ahh, I need a piece of paper!" And with that, the bunny ran off down the hall. I scoffed, processing what just happened. I began my slow walk down the same stretch of hallway, but it didn't take long for Pekora to return. "Here you go-peko." She gave me a piece of paper, it was quite large though. I read through what's on it and came to a conclusion. "Your contact info?" Come to think of it, she never did give me her contacts. "So you can call me, o-or message me on Discord or something." Folding and placing the paper in my pocket, I gave the girl a smile. "Thanks." She walks away moments later. I pull my phone out to simply check the time and- oh. Stream starts in 30 minutes.

-Time Skip-
10 minutes later...

"I'm home." That's the first thing I said when I closed the front door behind me. The first one to greet me surprised me, since it was Suisei. "Hi honey, welcome home." "Hey-" I was currently taking my shoes off as she said that. I stopped myself to look at the blue-haired girl. "Come again." "Why honey?" I had a feeling that's what she said. It was weird for someone older than me to call me 'Honey', though I say that like I have had someone call me that before - I haven't. "Goodbye Suisei," I said, getting up and walking passed her. The girl looked at me, with that same creepy smile on her face. Thankfully she didn't follow me to my room, which should now be a 'No-Suisei Zone', yeah that's a great idea. When entering, I was met with an exhausted looking Kanata. Instead of playing Fur Elise, she was playing...Flight of the Bumblebee? "You okay there?" I ask out of curiosity. She turned her head to look back at me, droopy eyed and panting like a dog. "Just a little tired..that's all." I think she overworked her fingers. I went over to the girl, and using her still state to my advantage, I managed to give the girl a piggyback ride. "I'm tired sutōkā-chan.." I know that dumdum. Now, with the angel on my back, I exited and entered her bedroom, which was a door down the hall from mine. I laid her down on her bed, tucking her in of course. "Rest," is what I said. I didn't stick around long enough to look around her room because my STREAM WAS IN 15 minutes.

With the timer n' loading screen on, and my background music playing quietly, I made sure everything was in order. Using the remaining 10 minutes to figure out what game to stream, since it slipped my mind. I've played Minecraft and MW, so I should change it up a bit. I've got a few other games, including FNAF 2, Geometry Dash, Girls' Frontline and Osu Mania. I decided to go with FNAF 2 since it's a game that takes skill. And I've got some skill, right? Five minutes remaining. I took the paper of contacts Pekora gave me and put it to good use, opening Discord and sending her a message. I used the paper to get her exact profile, obviously. After finding her, I sent a message.

unpaidstalker: 'hey'.

That's the best I could come up with. Oh hey, the stream's starting.

My avatar rose slowly on screen with the same comic-styled background from before. I leant into my microphone, whispering a "Hey". I kinda chuckled after giving that introduction. "Guess what I'm playing today," as I say that, the background fades to darkness, then the game's main menu fades in. A mischievous smile appeared on my avatar's face. Taking a look at the other monitor, it's looking alright.

I even got a few donations, high amounts though. "Thanks for the donation you dummy. 'Will I die?' I hope not."

I went on to stream for a couple of hours, until the game was completed, completely.
