As expected you probably didnt open the diary right? Well its alright, not that I was waiting for you to read my cheesy little letter and you to write back to me...
I wonder what you might be doing today, in case you might have forgotten, its new year today, so Happy New Year Black, may you get whatever you want, and I, you. Geez, I am so bad at it, aint I?

Tomorrow we'll are returning back to Hogwarts, I am so excited to see you again, you have no idea how much I have missed your enchanting sight.

Sirius Black stared at the diary in his hands with utter confusion, someone has been writing to him and he didnt know at all.
Right now sitting in his room in the Potter household after finishing his packing with a tired James who already went to sleep, Sirius stayed awake in his bed staring at the beautiful handwriting in the diary trying to trace who could have written this to him and that too without any name.
He wanted to know who it was and decided to write back. Picking up a quill he quickly rushed to write but didnt know how to begin or who to address to. Sighing, he wrote nevertheless.
He set the quill down after writing and frowned at the page. He waited for response but that never came. Maybe they're asleep. He thought himself before going to sleep.

"Mady!" A girl with messy blonde hair exclaimed after a brunette girl, who turned with a smile, "Yes Alyssa?"
"What's this?" Alyssa asked raising a black jacketed diary with some stickers attached to it, causing the latter's eyes to almost bulge out as she jumped to pry the diary from her hands.
"Where did you get this?" Mady asked sharply hugging the diary to her chest as the dearest thing to her.
Alyssa squinted her eyes, "I found it lying outside your trunk, but why are you acting that way? What's in it?"
"Its my journal," Mady said turning away and huffed to herself internally, relieved that her dormmate didnt peak in it. How could she? It was encrypted with a spell.
Madelyn Jones, gryffindor, seventh year. A quiet and shy girl. Sometimes extrovert, mostly introvert. She believed in sitting quiet in one place and observing the world. Library being her favourite place to spend her time.
She had a simple and seemingly boring life. Her life was far from any light and then there he was, the bright shining star, Sirius Black.
The boy she fell for.
Ironic. She thought. Why him out of all people? He was a complete contrast to her. She was quiet, he was loud; she was faded, he was vibrant; he was surrounded by people, and she just had one friend; girls were all over him, and boys barely even looked at her. Him and her were no match.
And still she found herself falling for him.
"You are doing it wrong." A fifteen year old Mady said glancing a Sirius in the potions class who was failing to cut the ingredients properly. Sirius raised an eyebrow at her arrogantly, "You do it if you are so clever."
Mady pursed her lips cutting the ingredients for him, he watched her slightly wide eyed realising he had been doing it all wrong and probably like a big idiot. He just hoped nobody saw him. Mady looked up at him, "Here done."
"Wow, I've been doing it like an idiot." Sirius chuckled and Mady stared at him for moment losing her ability to breath seeing him smiling from so near. His lips formed one of the most charming smiles as he said with his head titled, "Thankyou."
"Sure thing." She smiled back.
And that was it. That was all it took to make her fall for him.
Mady smiled to herself remembering how their hands almost brushed today while they moved in the gryffindor line back to their common room after their first feast back at Hogwarts from the Christmas break.
She remembered she was still holding that diary and it almost pained in her heart that he still wouldnt have written back or even seen her letters. What a shame. Nevertheless she opened it, wanting to write one more cheesy letter with a mischevious smile. That was until she saw he actually wrote back to her.
She blinked at the words.
