Y/N POV

"Well, I don't think you'll need that much of an explanation now will you." I mocked.

"How did you know we were up here? Did you see past Tohru's magic?" Kobayashi questioned.

"Ahh yes, whilst your perception blocking masks your physical presence, your mental activity remains as noisy as ever."

It had taken me a few seconds to figure out what was going on after I heard another random set of thoughts in the background. It was a relief to find that we were being spied on by nosy friends and not malicious enemies.

"I need to reiterate my list of trustworthy individuals." I groaned, clawing at my hair.

"How much did you overhear?"

"Everyth..." Kobayashi started

"Nothing at all, we just arrived!" Tohru blurted out.

"Well then, if that's the case I take it you all still want an explanation?" Nods following my question.

I waved a hand at the air beside me and from it cracked a doorway through to Kobayashi's apartment. Everyone got the message, filing through before I caught Ilulu by the arm and began a mental conversation.

'Don't bring up anything unless I give the all clear, got it? I have an idea for getting out of this.'

'Yeah, okay' She responded in her thoughts before stepping through the gate and into Kobayashi's living room.

"Sit, both of you." Kobayashi instructed.

Ilulu and I complied seating our forms on the padded couch whilst the smaller female took her spot. The other dragons were standing either side of the woman, almost like bodyguards accompanying a detective.

"I'll go first, what's the relationship between the two of you?" Tohru questioned.

"Ugh, w-well its complicated, but I guess you could say we're good friends." I replied, causing Kobayashi to raise her eyebrow in doubt.

"You were seemed rather close from what I could tell."

I frowned at the trio, Ilulu meanwhile glared daggers at the blonde-haired maid muttering.

"Why do you care?"

"Next question, Y/N are you aware of Ilulu's background, who she serves under?" Elma Inquired.

I stiffened.

"I am aware yes." I flatly replied trying not to draw suspicion.

"She serves a seemingly non-existent guild, one who's actions have been hostile as of recently."

"Yes, I know that too."

"Yet you still pursue friendship with her, why? As far as I can tell your personalities aren't what I would call similar." Tohru declared, pointing a finger at Ilulu.

"Like I said our relationship is complicated..."

"Understatement." Ilulu, interrupted.

"The details behind such events I am not obliged to disclose so I would ask that you respect my privacy as well as hers." I finished.

God, I sounded so much like old me just then didn't I.

"Alright, alright. Can we continue?" Kobayashi intervened.

"Fine."

"Ilulu, before our duel you were asking about Y/N, why?" Tohru continued.

"Well, I-I. It's complicated, didn't you hear anything when you were eavesdropping?"
