Trigger warning: this chapter begins with an intimate love scene. It's short and doesn't go into much detail, but if you don't want to read it just skip everything that's in italic, the rest of the chapter is clean.
They kissed each other passionately, holding one another close... so very close. Their hands moving curiously across every inch of each other's body.
Rey looked out the window of the space craft as he kissed her neck, slowly making his way down to her breasts.
"I love you," he whispered.
"I love you too," she replied.
He gently lowered her onto the bed and began making passionate love to her.
Rey sat up awaking from the dream. It was more of a memory than a dream. Since whatever had happened to her, it was the only memory she had of her past.
She remembered falling in love with a man from another world. He had taken her aboard his ship and out into space. She could remember that she had fallen in love with him there among the stars. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't remember his face. She couldn't remember how tall he had been, the color of his hair, his eyes or his skin. She couldn't remember his name. She couldn't even remember the sound of his voice. But she did remember the tender 'I love you's, the passionate kisses and him making love to her. She could still remember how his lips had felt against hers... how his lips had felt against her skin. She could still remember the feeling of him being inside of her. She could remember that they loved each other and that they had been married by one of the crew members of his ship.
She knew that he probably had to leave to go somewhere off world where she couldn't follow, especially while she was carrying his child. She knew that he would come back for her... one day. It had been almost seven years, but she hadn't given up hope.
She got up and went to the kitchen to make breakfast. She marked another line on the poster board, marking another day since she had last seen him. It had been over seven years and the poster board was nearly full. Please come back home sweetheart... she thought, hoping beyond all hope that they were somehow telepathically linked and he could hear her.
As she was standing in front of the stove flipping the pancakes she'd made, she felt a pair of tiny arms wrap around her waist.
"Good morning, sweetheart I made your favourite... pancakes," she told him. She turned to hug her son, Zephyr. He was her everything, the only thing she knew in the whole world. She had no memory of her family, her parents... she had very few memories of her husband and if she had any friends in the world, she didn't remember them. Now Zephyr was the only person in all of the world that she knew. Before he was born she had felt so alone.
She looked at the six year old boy, wondering as she often did if he looked like her husband. He didn't look very much like her for certain. His eyes were dark brown and had long black curls. She couldn't bring herself to cut his hair, the curls were so beautiful and his hair reminded her of someone... someone special. If only she could remember.
"Yay! Pancakes!" he exclaimed.
She smiled at him. "Go sit down at the table and I'll bring you a plate full of them."
Zephyr ran to the table and sat down.
Rey stacked three pancakes on his plate and sat it on the table in front of him. Then she fixed her own plate and sat down in the chair next to him.
"Mommy, where's my daddy?" Zephyr asked.
Rey stared at him for a moment. This was the first time he'd asked her that. "He came from another world. He's flying among the stars now, but he'll come back to us soon," she told him.
"Was he from outer space?" Zephyr asked.
"I think so," Rey answered.
"Was he green? Or was he human like Luke Skywalker and Thor?" Zephyr asked.
Rey laughed. "He was human."
"What was he like?" Zephyr asked.
"I don't remember," she answered sadly.
"But you loved him, how could you forget?" Zephyr asked.
"I had an accident. I hit my head really hard, I have amnesia. I don't remember anything past a few months before you were born," she said. "I don't even remember my parents."
"But if you forgot him what if he forgot us?" Zephyr asked worried.
"Your father would never forget us," she answered.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Yes. I'll tell you what I do remember about him. He was very loving and kind, and funny. We loved each other very much so we got married, in space," she told him.
"How did he look?" Zephyr asked.
"Well I think he must have looked like you," she answered.
"Really?" Zephyr asked.
"Well you don't look like me, so I think you must have taken after your daddy," she replied.
"But if you don't remember how my daddy looks how will you recognize him?" Zephyr asked.
"Well I love him, so I hope that I'll remember him when I see him," she answered. "Besides he will probably be in a space ship. And he will know me."
Zephyr nodded. "So when is he coming back?"
"I don't know," she answered.
