Rey sat on her bed looking at the wedding ring on her finger. It was one of a kind, made from a spare gage from his ship. She started to cry, she didn't remember much about him but she missed him. She was afraid that Zephyr was right, if she had forgotten him maybe he had forgotten her too. Would her son grow up never knowing his daddy? And would she spend the rest of her life waiting on someone who she wasn't even sure existed? What if Zephyr's father had really just been a bum who had left her after the accident and her fleeting memories were just her mind trying to protect her from the truth. What if he had died? His ship blown to a million pieces by an astroid.
Zephyr opened the door and came over to her. She tried to stop crying so that he wouldn't see.
"What's wrong Mommy?" he asked, sitting in her lap.
"Nothing, I just miss your Daddy," she answered. "I wish he were here."
Zephyr hugged her. "It's okay Mommy, he probably misses you too."
Rey nodded. "You're probably right," she replied.

Zephyr grabbed his backpack and filled it with some snacks, his favorite toy, a flashlight, a toy lightsaber (who would go to space without one, though he was hoping that when he found his daddy he would give him a real lightsaber). He was going to go find his Daddy and bring him home for his Mommy. She was so sad, he was sure that if he brought him back his Mommy would be happy again. And he would have his Daddy, they could all be a family.
And maybe if his Daddy was here he could finally get the baby sister he'd been begging his mommy for.
It was really early, before sunrise. He looked into his mommy's room, she was still asleep.
He tiptoed out of the house. He was headed for the planetarium just down the road. Maybe someone there would know how to find his daddy.
He tried to open the door to the planetary, but it was locked. He sat down on the sidewalk, waiting for someone to come and open the door.

Zephyr awoke as he felt a hand on his shoulder. "How long have you been here kid?"
Zephyr looked up to see a tall man with long black hair knelt in front of him.
"Since before sunrise," he replied.
"You must be really excited to see the planetarium," the man replied.
"Actually I'm looking for someone to help me. Someone who knows a lot about space," the boy said.
"I do. I used to work for NASA," he said. "My name is Ben. What's your's?"
"Zephyr," the boy replied.
"Zephyr?... that's a cool name," he said. "So Zephyr are you doing a project for school?"
"It's summer. I start kindergarten next fall," Zephyr replied. "I'm looking for my daddy."
"Oh does he work here?" Ben asked.
"No he lives in outer space," Zephyr replied.
"Oh so he's an astronaut?" Ben asked.
"No he's sort of an alien, but he's human. Kind of like Thor. He came from another planet," Zephyr said. "... which means that I will get to Star Lord when I grow up. Or if I am really lucky I'll be like a Jedi Luke Skywalker."
Poor kid his father must have left him, he probably doesn't understand, Ben thought. "Really? So you think your father might be Darth Vader?"
"Maybe," Zephyr replied.
