"Bella!" Jacob rushed over to me. A ringing was in my ear. I focused on something, on Jacob in front of me.

"Your head is bleeding," he was panicking. The warm blood was going down my head. We hadn't thought of helmets. Maybe Charlie was right about motorbikes.

"Sorry," I muttered.

"For what? For bleeding?"

I blinked. I was used to saying sorry for bleeding because it would have been a nuisance for Edward. I forgot that Jacob was a human, someone who didn't care if I bled. Jacob tore a piece of his shirt, and I got a flash of his abs.

Since when was I so focused on abs?

"We should go to the hospital," Jacob frowned.

I couldn't go to the hospital, not like this. I needed to find an excuse.

"No more riding motorbikes," Jacob said firmly. "Or at least... next time with more security."

I laughed. I felt my heart pounding against my chest. I didn't know what I had just done. Was it... reasonable? Was pulling a 16-year-old into my suicidal tendencies a good idea? I had thought it was a good idea. It was what Dr. Min had wanted – me to have a hobby. But I realized that this was probably not what he meant when he said to get a hobby that makes you happy. Perhaps hanging around Jacob had been a good idea, after all, it led me back to my other friends... although that was more because Jungkook had called me out.

I felt like I needed to have a talk with Dr. Min again real soon and hope that he doesn't hospitalize me.

I figured that if I said I tripped in Jacob's garage, it would make sense. Jacob took me to the hospital, and he held my hand while I was getting stitches. I had called Jungkook, telling him that I might not make it tonight. Instead, he showed up at the hospital.

His hair was still wet and there was a small stench of chlorine coming off him and he wore an oversized hoodie, an absolutely bewildered look on his face.

"You are an idiot, you know that right?" he had his arms crossed. Jacob looked like he was going to fight him.

"Who are you?"

"Her partner," Jungkook said as a matter a fact. He paused for a moment. He probably realized what that sounded like. Jacob's jaw went slack.

"I meant her lab partner. The partner for the big presentation we have tomorrow," Jungkook clarified. "You must be her best friend, Jacob."

"She talks about me?" he asked excitedly, but Jungkook let out a tsk sound and looked at the stitches on my forehead, ignoring Jacob.

"You're going to have a concussion," Jungkook said firmly. "No doubt about it – I don't buy the story of you tripping in the garage. With your luck, you would have a sprained foot."

"So kind," I muttered under my breath.

"But I'll cover for you," he continued and patted me on the back. When his hand landed on my back, I felt like the pain in my head lessoning a bit and a sleepy feeling overcame me. The patting sensation soothed me. I dropped my head against his side.

"You're the best."

He looked between me and Jacob, "Your illegal bike activities are safe with me."

Charlie bought the story when Jungkook dropped me off.

"Ah, Jeon!" Charlie had said with a surprised look. "I didn't know you were still friends with Bella."

"We've been friends since we were kids, Mr. Swan," Jungkook said cheerily, ignoring the part where we stopped hanging out at some point. "How's the town?"
