Marshall's POV

I sat alone in my room, the lights off, me staring at the floor. I have a crush on Audrey, but I have no idea how I'm supposed to tell her. I could imagine us on our first date, us getting married, us staring down at a child, our own. I looked out his window to see Audrey having a dance party in her room next door. We lived right next to each other and if you were in my room you could see into Audrey's and vice versa.

I picked up his phone and typed.

Marshall: Hey do you want to go to that new coffee shop around the corner? I hear it's really good!

My finger hovered above the send button. I threw my phone at the wall, tears streaming down my face. "How do I tell her?" I sobbed into my pillow.

Audrey's POV

It was a Sunday night. And I usually spend my Sunday nights having a dance party. I turned on Tear In My Heart by Twenty One Pilots and started dancing, singing into my hairbrush. I see something fly across the room in Marshall's bedroom out of the corner of my eye. He appears to be crying. I hear him yell something but I can't tell what it is.

Worriedly, I pick up my phone and send Marshall a text

Audrey: Are you alright?

I saw Marshall turn around when he heard the chime of his phone. He slowly walked over to it. I watched as he replied then looked at me with a small smile.

Marshall: I'm fine. I promise.

Audrey: Nice try

Audrey: I'm serious

Audrey: Tell me the truth, Marshall

Marshall: Well, it's now or never

Marshall: I've had a crush on you for four years, Audrey. Ever since we met in science, I knew you were the one. You are the most important thing to me in life right now. And I was wonder if you'd like to go on a date... with me?

Marshall POV

I prepare for the absolute worst. 'She's going to hate me.' I think to myself.

Audrey: Marshall...

Yep she definitely hates me now. She must think I'm such a loser. I feel the tears brimming my eyes. 'Here it comes.'

Audrey: I would love to go on a date with you. I feel the exact same way. When do you want to go on the date and where?

I felt overjoyed. She said yes! She said yes! She said yes! She said yes! I leapt up and danced around my room. I heard my phone chime from my bed I ran over to it, spinning as I went. I looked at my phone, seeing it was a text from Audrey.

Audrey: You know I can see you right? Nice moves by the way

I felt my cheeks darken as I glanced over at her window. She was doubled over laughing. He smiled.

Marshall: Your adorable when you laugh.

Audrey: You're adorable when you blush.

Marshall: Touché, my friend, touché

Audrey: Touché indeed

Marshall: So, um, can I pick you up at seven?

Audrey: Seven sounds good! Where are we going?

Marshall: I can't tell you but I know you'll love it.

Audrey: Alright, I trust you.

Audrey: But remember this... I don't kiss on the first date.

Marshall: Done, see you in an hour, babe.

Alright. The hard part is done. Now for the other hard part. I sighed.

"What am I going to wear?"
