I conveniently ran into Sawamura as I trudge my way towards the vending machines. I decided to have a little chat with the aspiring rival pitcher.

I smiled, "Miyuki's pretty scary when he's angry, huh?"

I saw him stopped from taking out the refreshments and when I came near to face him, a look of raw horror was on his face.

I smiled endearingly. "During my first year, I pissed him off," I giggled awkwardly and the brunette's face seemed to portray the sense of camaraderie he was starting to feel, "I pissed him off because I shoved him away when he just wanted to comfort me." I looked up towards the few stars that determinedly shone through the smog, "it was kind of fun, learning something new about him," I gave the young brunette an encouraging smile, "it made me feel like we were friends."

I took out his refreshment and inserted a coin to pick a refreshment for myself. He falls into step beside me. "You and Miyuki-senpai are friends?" He inquired curiously.

"Yup! I was so scared that I'd broken our friendship together but it got resolved. I know he doesn't seem to have the best of personalities, but he can be a decent human being from time to time. He calls me out on my stupidity when I need him to, so I appreciate that," my smile never faltered as I opened my refreshment.

When I turned about to ask the boy what he wanted he became flustered and tried to reject my offer, but with some insistence on my part, "A senpai should treat her kouhai's from time to time!" He'd relented.

-First Week of June-

Weeks had passed and lots of practice games had been held here on the field. Today, is the last day of practice match of the second string because Tito will now be adding two members from the main roster to complete our summer lineup.

I'm watching from the sides and I'm quite saddened na hindi makakapaglaro si Chris-senpai as the catcher of this game. Their rival is Kokushikan from East Tokyo.

"Both teams line up!"

"YAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

"LET'S DO THIIIISSSSS!!!"

The game hasn't even started and yet there are lots of comments already from the spectators watching the game.

"Sending the second string against East Tokyo's Kokushikan High... Coach Kataoka sure has guts!"

"Well, isn't this the second string's last match?"

"Everyone looks full of fighting spirit."

"They're fighting for the last two spots."

I wonder how this game will turn. I relaxed myself on the bench as I keep my focus at the match. Top of the first inning, our team playing defense while the opponent plays offense. The starting pitcher is Sawamura.

"Go, Sawamura!" I mutter while gesturing a fighting fist. I didn't noticed that some of the first string players walks by to where I am currently sitting down.

"Oi."

The usual greeting caught my attention, I glance behind to look and I was welcomed by a look of disgrace from the catcher. Is something wrong?
