What Exactly Did You Do Last Night? Unedited

My ears twitch, and I hear the birds begin to sing their morning song. I doze off for what seems like 5 minutes but is really an hour before my eyes flutter open for the first time that day. My eyes connect with an unfamiliar wall, an unfamiliar desk, and an unfamiliar dresser making my heart accelerate; where the hell am I.

I try to get out of the mysterious bed with difficulty as my legs are tangled in blank white cotton sheets and there, right on me is a very heavy masculine arm laid lazily over my waist. As smoothly as someone can move another's arm without waking them up, I do so. I then push the sheets down and off my legs, thinking if I throw them back I would for sure wake up the entity beside me. Swinging my legs off the side of the bed, they softly land on the floor. I precede to slowly bring my weight off the mattress, success! I look around the enormous room, everything screens dominant and everything inside me screams to stay. I look one last time at the handsome face that is unaware of my actions and head towards the window.

Standing quietly on the window sill, I look out I front of me, the trees are a beautiful shade of green as the morning sun continues to rise. I then look down to see a good place to land. Gulping, I realize I'm higher than I thought, six stories to be exact and not including the basement I assume that the owner to this building has. The vast lawn made the trees are too far away to me to jump to and let myself climb down from. Not seeing another option, I stand there puzzled, letting the morning due and freshly showered forest fill my senses.

"Are you just enjoying the view? Cause I'd hate to think that you're suicidal, arrogant, and bat shit crazy for thinking you a she-wolf could make that sort of jump. You would crush your bones instantly upon impact. " A male voice says warily, wiping the sleep from his face. I look over my shoulder, knowing that I had come to the same conclusion he did 10 minutes before he spoke.

"Make the stupid jump, show him we're not weak. Or use the edge of the windows and fall down a story or two so it's safe to jump, that'll make him think you're smarter than you look." The voice inside my head whispered.
"Really you think I look stupid more than half the time?" I whisper the question back to the voice, somewhat hurt.
"Of course not, well maybe, just make a decision already." The voice chimed back with a soft curtness before it withdrew its presence.

I internally groaned and look over my shoulder again at the angelic male who now displays a look of concern. I turn so my back is to the sun, still standing on the window sill, I look carefully look him over once more. A daring smile begins to form from my lips, he looks right back at me, challenge evident in his stance and eyes with still a glint of concern. He takes a careful step forward; I tsk at him, daring him even more. I think I had enough when he takes another step closer, making my nerves fire up.

"I think I'm a little of all the characteristics you mentioned moments ago, but that is all stored in my left pinky." I say wiggling my pinky at him so he can see. The look on his face brought joy to me when I flung my hands up and drove my head back into a flip.

Elegantly back flipping from that window was exhilarating, the air whisped around my skin, kissing my cheeks and then finally ruffling my fur as I landed with a slight thud on all fours. I look up from where I jumped through the eyes of a wolf seeing his look turn from panicked to one of relief seeing I was in one piece. I didn't want to think or acknowledge how I felt about the emotions that swirled in those crisp blue eyes of his. Uncomfortable with the things that stirred inside me, I turn around deciding to run back home. Where I knew I was happy, where I knew I was safe; yet, I knew I felt those same things in the room I had just left.

"It's okay to feel those things." The voice whispered to me, as she, The Wolf, continued to amble through the woods towards what we called home. I mentally huff at her whispered suggestion. She made a leap up of what I guessed 50 yards, giving me control as soon as we came through my open window so that I would land on my two feet in my room. Naked.

I walk briskly through my attached bathroom and turn on the water to the shower. I let it warm as I grab a towel from the bath room closet, then set it on my sink counter near the shower door and hop in. Letting the spray run all over my skin I take some body wash and rub it all over myself, doing my best with my luffa to scrub off his calming and earthly scent as well as the scent of the animal resting inside of me. I finish washing up my body, face and hair, turn off the faucet, and step out of the steamy box. Wrapping the cotton towel around my frame, I step out of the bathroom.

"Sleep well." The voice of my best friend Nikki chimes with a smirk on her face. I jump a little, surprised she's sitting on my bed waiting for me.
"Shit! What have I said about the whole stealthy thing." I snark back, looking at her in the eye.

"Hey! Don't get pissy with me, Steve said I could come up." She simply replied back at my irritation. If only the beast inside of me was more present, I would have heard her come in the front door.

"Whatever." I grumbled under my breath at her as I grabbed undergarments and put them on.
"Heard that." Nikki shot back. Rolling my eyes...
"Well we all don't have unnatural super hearing like you." I shot back knowing she was a Lycian. She grumble at my response looking at her phone.

"So where exactly did you go last night? I came to find you, but you just seemed to have disappeared." She suddenly asked with a smirk played on her lips. I look at her with squinted eyes as she stared back at me with mischief in her eyes.

"A run then home," I said my face blank. I watch a Nikki scrunched up her nose trying to make it unnoticeable to a "human" like me. Lycians can sniff out lies, so mine technically wasn't since I did go for a run with him and then came home even though he did chase me the majority of the way. She gave me a look of suspicion as she brought herself to sit upright on my bed.

"Huh, cause I coulda sworn you were sitting with a gorgeous guy around the bonfire." She replied confident.
"Well you're imagining things air head." I replied back. She rolled her eyes at me in defeat.
"Fine don't tell me about the mystery man, whatever." There was a brief pause as I finished putting on my Nike shorts and a loose shirt.

"I have no mystery man." I shot back putting air quotations around 'mystery man'. I glance at the clock besides my bed, only 10:00 AM it reads.
"So what do you want to do today?" I ask as I put on my chacos looking at Nikki as she shrugs her shoulders.

"Doesn't matter to me, I just have to be home by six tonight for a family occasion." She says getting up my my bed.
"Alight." I simply say know full well that 'family occasion' met pack meeting. We both started to head down stairs in search of something to eat. I open the fridge to find left over pasta so I grab it before she can grab it.

"Hey! I wanted that." She exclaimed with a pouty face.
"Sometimes the turtle doesn't always win the race." I said smoothly with a grin as she grabbed the left over Mac n' Cheese instead. We put the stuff in microwave to heat up and an we waited, she got eating utensils and I lost myself in the thought of him, those crisp blue eyes and again internally groaning when I notice the look on Nikki's face.

"No mystery boy my ass." She exclaims again, smug written all over her facial features.
Rolling my eyes I turn around and pull our food out and hand the Mac n' Cheese to her. We sit down at the little table in the kitchen. Again I think of him, but thinking of what kind of food he liked...

So it's been a while...I'm sure you've noticed some differences in my writing. I'm asking for feedback...PRETTY PLEASE! There is definitely more to come, just setting up some important people and then for the climax and final throw down.😉 I hope you've enjoyed this chapter...
