For Uka days were boring, same with nights, even when going to school. The only thing that seems to bring out anything in her is her dreams.  Her abnormal dreams brought joy to her when she was in them. Sure some of the people were her friends, but they actually talked to her, she had longer interactions with them than normal, and smiled for real. It didn't really matter if the dream was recurring, or new she always was sad when she had to wake.
You see there was this one, which seemed to often occur. One where she is a bird, a bird that can fly high,  one that was free and knew how to be itself, the one thing that Uka wished for, not being awkward around others, being able to tell the teacher the answers to a sheet, or to ask for help. But she couldn't, she was too shy, even with the people she knew for years, even the people that had taken her in she couldn't hold very long conversations with. When home, after homework she would normally lay in bed with music playing in the background and stuffed animals in hand. Sometimes she would draw, but would give up halfway. She couldn't really do things for too long before she got bored, so sleeping is what she settled with.
She laid her head on the slightly uncomfortable feather pillow and closed her eyes, hoping to fall into a deep rest quick. In Which she did, dreamland filled her eyes rather quickly. Before she knew it, she was in a kitchen, culinary class to be exact. The school looked way different then hers, and was one she could tell she hasn't seen before. But Uka was able to see just how huge the school was from the window in front of her. A timer dinged informing her whatever was in the oven in front of her was done. She grabbed a pair of oven mitts that were close to her then pulled out what smells like banana bread. She smiled at the chestnut brown bread and left it to cool and started talking to the others in the class.
After a bit of talking she noticed a person she would often see in her classes and dreams, a good friend that she played soccer with a few years back. Kevin, she didn't understand why he kept showing up but thought nothing of it. He was talking to someone and pointed over in her direction and nodded. Then he started looking over and stopped right in front of her. She looked up and smiled,
“What's up?” she pipes out.
“Can I sit there?” he asked, pointing down at her.
“Oh yeah sure” she replies and gos to get up but instead is greeted with weight on her lap and a white t-shirt to the face. “Uhhh” she says quietly “
this is okay right?” he questions and she nodded beet red.
That action was short lived as she was awoken by her mom trying to get her to come down to eat. She complained she wasn't hungry, like every night, her mom grabbed her ear forcing her to get up and Uka sighed with defeat . “fine ill go eat” she said and her mother smiled. “Come on, your brother is waiting” she motioned for her to go out, which she did with haste, not wanting to upset her mom again.
Once sat at the table they dug into the chicken pasta. Pasta was something they all loved and had on monday nights, every time trying to make something new, and even making fresh noodles when no one was busy. Once everyone had gotten their food the chit-chat started.
“So what's up with school, is it hard for you right now?” he older brother asked, mouth full.
“It's okay, you know the same as normal, and it's easy being honest” she said, setting her fork down.
“What have you guys been up to?” she asked, intertwining her fingers together.
“In my class i'm teaching about pandora's box again” her mother replies, “
us upper people at the business are planning on going on a trip so i wont be here for awhile next month” her brother Rayu tells them.
“That's good, you need a break'' Uka tells her older brother with a smile.
“So what's with you sleeping so much?” her mother asked
“I'm not really sure, but it's just been making me happier, and I guess more fuller” she says before taking another bite.
“That's good to hear, just make sure you do important things before you do sleep” her mother chuckled.
“ I know, I have been so no need to worry” she reasures her before getting up and rinsing her plate off.
“Have a good night” he brother tells her and she replies with a ‘you too’, before heading up to her room. Where once she was there laid down on her bed with her sketchbook in hand, along with her bag of different art supplies all not matching. She drew for a little bit, then sat there staring off into space. It didn't take her long before getting extremely bored and she placed her things to the side, turning her lamp off in the process of returning. She laid down, stuffed pig in hand and covered herself, curled up, and started to try and drift off.
“Why don't you talk much?” kevin asked surprising her,
“I just don't really have the confidence to i guess”  she just shrugged it off before turning around to start walking into the school.
“Wait why are you going into school, it was canceled today” Kevin shouted and the girl stopped.
“That makes a lot of sense now” she sighed and walked back over to him, she looked directly into his eyes when she stood up straight and looked forward. “I guess I am tall,” she says nonchalantly with a straight face.
“Yeah you are, never really realized that huh” kevin smiles, “so how about we spend the day together, if you didn't have anything else to say of course “ he says ,seeming a bit shy.
“No, I don't really do anything so I guess I'm free, where to?” Uka questioned as she fixed her drooping bag.
“Just follow me” he smiles and starts walking away with her quickly following. Not much was said but they walked for a long time before making it to a park, then everything faded to black once more.

“I guess it was just a dream huh” Uka looked around her room and then realized she was up before she normally was and thought it was best to take a shower and actually try today. She made sure she washed real good and didn't really rush herself. But once done she put on some nice clothes, the kind you see teenagers wear more commonly, which had put a rush of adrenaline through her veins, knowing today was the day she was going to try, the day she might get notice, all because of some dream that had realized. She was in love, something she didn't fully understand but was willing to.

She had said good morning to her mother, who complimented her, causing her to get slightly flustered and more pumped for the day. She ate her breakfast, and bid her farewells, then started the short walk she goes through to get to school.
