This Love Is Ours (Sequel to Chadwick's Sister)

Chapter Four

Wes's POV
Today was Cait and I's first ultrasound for the baby and we couldn't have been more excited. We won't be finding out the gender for a while but we're just happy to finally see our baby.

"Morning beautiful." I say walking into the kitchen where Cait is dressed and ready, making tea and toast.

"Morning love." She says giving me a kiss on the lips.

"How are you and baby doing?"

"Good, they were making me a little sick this morning. So your mom told me to make some tea and toast. She was saying she always had to do this when she was pregnant with you." She says and we both laugh.

"You two ready to go?"

"Yeah." She answers grabbing her tea and putting her toast on a paper towel. We walk out to my car and get in before starting to head to the doctor. I look over seeing Cait on her phone with one hand and the other was resting on her belly, causing me to smile.

We finally pull up to the doctors office, I get out of the drivers side and walk over to the passenger side opening the door for Cait. We walk in and she goes up to the front desk grabbing a clipboard with paperwork. We sit down and she starts filling it out. A few minutes one of the nurses comes in.

"Caitlyn Chadwick." We both get up and follow the nurse. She takes Cait's height, weight and blood pressure. She also takes measurements of Cait's belly. We follow her down a hallway and she opens one of the doors for us. "You can just hop up on the bed and the doctor will be right in." The nurse says before leaving.

"You excited?" I ask and she nods.

"Are you?"

"Very." I say as she smiles. We sit there for about five minutes before the doctor walks in.

"Hi Ms.Chadwick?" The doctor asks as Cait nods. "I'm Dr.Livingston, so is this your first ultrasound?" She asks Cait, turning off the lights and turning the machine on.

"Yes."

"Okay so if you will just pull your shirt up." She says as Cait nods. I look over and smile seeing her tiny bump. The doctor puts the gel on her stomach before rubbing the little wand over her stomach. "So there's the baby." She says pointing to this little almost peanut like shape. "Would you like to hear the heart beat?" She asks us smiling. We both nod and she flips the sound on.

"Oh my gosh." Cait says excitedly, clasping her hand over her mouth. Soon there are tears flowing down her face.

Caitlyn's POV
After the ultrasound the doctor prints off our pictures and we leave. Once we get in the car I can't stop looking at the pictures. I can't believe that there's a tiny little human inside of me.

"You okay?" Wes asks with a little laugh.

"Yeah, just thinkin."

"Thinking about what?"

"It's just so weird. I have this tiny little person inside of me." I say as he laughs.

"Just wait until they start moving." (Just to clarify there's only one baby but I personally don't like to think of a baby as an 'it' that is just my preference)

"I know, your mom was telling me that once they start moving, they can hear you too." I say and we both smile.

We arrive at Lairaine's house for dinner. It was just Breezie, Lairaine and Keaton that were over. I grab my purse and Wes opens my door for me and helps me out. He holds my hand as we walk inside.

"Hi you two." Lairaine says hugging us.

"Hey pretty lady." Breezie says, hugging me.

"Hey guys."

"So how was the ultrasound?" Lairaine asks as we all sit down.

"It was good. We'll have to show you pictures after dinner." Wes says and they nod.

"When will you find out the gender?" Breezie asks.

"Not for quite a few weeks." I say and they nod.

After dinner I help Lairaine and Breezie clean up the kitchen and put away any leftovers.

"Okay now let me see those pictures of my grand baby." Lairaine says causing Breezie and I to laugh. I walk over to the counter where my purse is and take the pictures out of my purse. I hand them to her and there's a huge smile across her face. "I can't believe you and Wesley are pregnant." She says and I nod.

"Trust me we can't believe it either." I say with a smile, rubbing my hand over my slight baby bump.

Wes's POV
Cait was getting supper tired so we decided we should probably go home. We say goodbye to my mom, sister and brother before getting in the car.

"So what'd you and Breezie talk about?" I ask.

"She was just telling me what to expect. And how her labor went with Rory."

"Well that's nice."

"Yeah, I'm quite nervous." She says exhaling sharply, causing me to slam on my breaks.

"Are you okay?!" I almost yell.

"Woah there dude. I'm fine I was just breathing, you know like every other human being does."

"Well you breathed out sharply."

"Yeah cause I got a sharp pain in my-" I am quick to interrupt her.

"Nope we're going to the hospital."

"Will you let me finish?" She asks and I nod. "Like I was saying, I got a sharp pain in my head. So I don't think we need to go to the hospital for a headache."

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"This is gonna be a long pregnancy."
