Vuk was on the outskirts of that abandoned place.

He still remembers everything. Everything that happened in that small town that was hidden among the trees.

The music was loud in that canteen. The accordions, the people dancing. It was like a dream. "Let's Dance!". Said that blond boy, offering his hand to Vuk.

Vuk didn't drink too much, so it wasn't a big deal. "Oh come on, that would look weird, two men dancing." Janez looks at him playfully. "Oh come on. Don't be a coward. I don't think all these people are going to notice us."  Vuk smiles, and stands up. "Okay, but don't get excited."

...Why?....

"Hey, Vuk. Radojka and I are going out for a smoke. Are you coming?"  Vuk releases Janez upon hearing that. "Of course! Wait for me outside!"

Janez looked at him less animatedly. "You gonna go?". Vuk puts on his vest. "Don't be an idiot. I'll be back in a few minutes. You can dance with someone else in the meantime." Janez tries to smile. "Okay, I'll wait here for you then." Vuk looks to the sides, and taking advantage of the fact that no one was looking at them, he leaves a short kiss on Jane'z lips. "You look like a dog watching its owner leave." That kiss caused Janez to finally smile more confidently. "Okay. Come on, go out with these guys, they're going to get tired of waiting."

Vuk went out with those men.

...Big mistake...

Vuk took out a cigarette, and Radojka lit it for him. "How is the party going?". Radojka asks. Vuk smokes a little. "I guess fine, all okay." Radojka upon hearing that smile. "Any girls in there to enjoy this night?" Vuk laughs. "I could say that somtehing like, everything is under control." Radojka walks over and nudges him. "Come on, tell me."

Vuk was going to speak. But before he could start, something happened...

...An explosion...

Vuk, Radojka, and the other man that Vuk didn't know but offered to go smoke with them fell to the ground. The first to open his eyes was Vuk. His body ached... It burned...

He felt tired, but he needed to know what happened....

When Vuk looks... He couldn't believe it...

The canteen... It wasn't there...

Now It was devastated...

Vuk didn't have the voice to scream. Just... tried to get up...

He approaches the ruins slowly... It was burning...

He couldn't resist standing much longer, at the end he fell and fainted...

When he wakes up, it appears to be a hospital. It was full of beds with people... Beside him was Radojka, already awake. Vuk's hand was now in a cast, but that didn't stop him from getting up. This must have been just a dream...

"Janez..." He said with a broken voice. Bed by bed, there were people that Vuk thought he saw in the canteen...

...He couldn't believe his eyes...

A body with multiple burns... now without clothes on that stretcher. A nurse came up behind. "Sir, you can't be here." She said politely. Vuk pushes her and approaches to see the body of that person...

...It was him...

Vuk's eyes filled with tears. He hugged the body as fast as he could....

"Forgive me, Janez... I never should have gone out..." A group of nurses arrived and took Vuk away from there, who offered no resistance... He felt weak....

Even after 10 years, he couldn't take it. And that was the reason why he was standing out there...

He approached the ruins, and that was where he loaded the gun.

He took a deep breath, which triggered into a smile.

"Finally... We'll meet again, honey...".

He put the gun aimed at his head, and safely, he pulled the trigger.

His vision clouded immediately, he couldn't hear anything else....

He open his eyes. And there he was...

"Vuk".

That smile... Finally...

He got up slowly, looking at the young man. "I've missed you". Vuk said, hugging the blond, who returned the hug. "I promised you I would come back... And now I am here." Vuk's voice was lively again.

"Welcome home again, Vuk." Janez said, planting a kiss on Vuk's cheek. Vuk started to laugh.

He felt that he was finally back where he felt comfortable.

What people called home, Vuk called Janez...
