We found a nice open spot at the end of a small forest. We used JJ's lighter to start a fire. All of us are sitting on some logs, except for John B who is standing up. JJ is sitting on the ground in front of me, his body in between my legs.

"Hey, guys, so like, my Dad's already gonna kill me. So what's this mandatory meeting about?" Pope questions.

All of us look to John B who points finger guns towards JJ.

"Might as well tell them, Man, before we're gaffed." JJ speaks up, making Pope, Kie and I all confused.

"You ready for this?" John B asks.

"Yeah." I reply, nodding my head. Kie and Pope nod their heads in agreement.

"So, the gold never went down with the Royal Merchant." John B tells.

I scoff lightly and roll my eyes.

Not this again.

"Oh, my god. Here we go again with this." Pope sighs.

"No. All right, wait. Here him out, alright?" JJ interrupts.

"It's been here the whole time. It's on the island." John B informs.

My face immediately relaxes and my jaw drops.

"Are you serious?" Kie questions.

"Oh, my god." I chuckle in disbelief.

"I'd like to voice my skepticism." Pope adds in.

"I'm sure you would, Pope, but can I please present you with my evidence, sir?"

"Proceed."

John B grabs his bag from beside him and starts searching through it.

"All right. So, in my backpack, I have a letter from Denmark Tanny." John B pulls out a folded piece of paper.

"Who the hell's that?" Kiara asks.

"Denmark Tanny was a slave that survived the Royal Merchant wreck. Check this out." John B responds. He starts unfolding the piece of paper then hands it to me. "Here you go." I start looking over the letter while John B continues talking.

"Okay, slaves weren't mentioned as crew members on the ship, but my Dad, he found the complete manifest. That was his big discovery. So, Tanny used the gold from the Merchant to buy his freedom." I hand the letter to Kiara, who starts reading over it as well. The letter is in a completely different language, so I can't understand it but I still looked over it. "After that, he bought his farm. Drumroll, please, because that farm is..." Kie and I slap our hands on our thighs and drumroll. "...Tannyhill Plantation."

"Tannyhill?" I question.

"Yeah. So, after that, he used his money to free even more slaves, and then he sold a shit-ton of rice, which pisses of all the white-planters, and then they decide to lynch him. So on the day they were coming to get him, he writes a letter to his son as a farewell, and in the last line of that letter, leaves a coded message about... where to find the gold." John B continues on.

"Where?" Kie and I ask excitedly.

"Harvest the wheat, in parcel nine, near the water." John B speaks. "Except... there's no wheat. You see, wheat is code for gold. Check this out." John B grabs another piece of paper from his backpack and shows it to all of us. The piece of paper has a picture of a block of gold with a wheat symbol on it. "The gold is in parcel nine, near the water." John B finishes.

Kie and I laugh excitedly and look at each other.

"Holy shit." Pope whispers.

"Oh, my god. That's insane!" I exclaim.
