In all honesty, I've never been a big fan of the ocean but I always found it peaceful. Small, rippling waves, the gentle breeze followed by the smell of salty sea water; lingering through the air. Walking along the hot sand and allowing your feet to be cooled by the small splash of water as the wave crashes against land etc..
But if I could go back, I think I'd try to appreciate it more. Before it's too late, take time to really take in that which surrounds you, because metaphorically, it could be what kills you. Grasp onto family, friends, lovers (if you're lucky enough to have one of course) and hold them, hold them tight. Learn not to slip from their mockeries and cruelty, but to forgive and grow stronger bonds.
It's hard to tell the fate of the future and the underlying pressure that follows; but one thing's for sure. Never let the waves take you. Don't let the ripples turn to tsunamis, don't let the ocean rot you away. Don't allow yourself to hit rock bottom.
And whatever you do, always make sure you're following the tide...
