It was another week, in the middle of July. Me and Carson continued to play around as we always do, laughing and splashing water at each other. "No fair!" I shouted. "It's the rules!! Haha!!" Carson laughed, and his smile always make me laugh too. "Oh yeah, my cousin is going to come over today this afternoon." I said, thinking about my little cousin, Sylivia. The cute little girl that always plays with me. Still, when I'm little I used to be jealous of her, wearing those dresses (that only BABIES can wear) that I can't fit in. As I was lost in thought, Carson yelled from across the beach, "Hey, Gemma! Your auntie is calling." "Huh?" I walked over, anxious to hear what auntie calls for me.

"Gemma....." Auntie made a sad face as she said that. "YOUR DAD IS COMING!!!" She suddenly jumped up and hugged me. "WHAT????!!!" I screamed, and that made Carson come over to see what was wrong. "What happened? Why did you scream? Something terrible has happened?" "No.. My dad is coming." I told him, trying to hide my excitement. "Oh~ aren't you happy and excited??" He asked me. "Yes! Of course I'm happy. I'm REALLY happy!!!" I said, bursting with my happiness. I jumped up and down, and hugging auntie. "He's coming over tomorrow. I gotta prepare the guest room. See you, Gemma. Bye Carson! You guys have fun." Auntie walked up the stairs and went to prepare the guest room.

'I'm so excited... Dad has never come back before! Yes! What should I wear? What should I get for him? Will he be going to see mom too? I'm really excited!!' These thoughts ran through my head as I walked around the beach with Carson, while whispering "I'm so excited!". "Gemma, you should really calm down a little bit." Carson said, and patted my back. "I can't!" I replied. "I haven't seen my dad since... FOREVER! I wonder if he will recognize me. Does he still remember that I'm his daughter?" "He will, Gemma. Don't worry about such a thing. Of course he'll recognize you!" Carson said in a reassuring way. "Okay." I sat beside him as we looked at the sunset. 'He's right. I shouldn't worry.' I thought as the sun sets into the ocean and we got up and went back home. "See you later," he said, waving. "Okay!" I went in the house as he went in his.
