val pov

i waited for dallas to come pick me up. it was rolling up around 6. not off to a good start. he was driving darrys truck so that told me he was goofing off and forgot about me.

"hey doll." he said opening the door for me.

"hey."

"whats wrong val?"

"you were almost an hour late picking me."

"im sorry about that, i had to take care of some stuff before i got you. it was last minute."

"what was so last minute? playing football with the gang and fucking off to the point you lost track of time?"

"val you need to calm down. i had to go get some stuff and youll know why soon."

"yeah okay ill just calm down." i said so nonchalantly.

he grabbed my hand and rubbed it with his thumb like how he used to.

"ill only forgive you if you sing with me." i said pulling my hand away.

"you know i dont sing."

"cmon you sang in the car when you thought i was asleep."

"oh fuck me." he said.

"you know you want to."

the song, "down under" by men at work started playing.

dallas nodded his head to the tune and started singing quietly. the more he sang, the more he got into it. eventually he was going full throttle.

"I COME FROM A LAND DOWN UNDER!" he sang. he couldnt hold a tune to save his life, but i loved his singing. he always looked cold and never seemed to let lose, but when he sang he totally let everything go for the time being.

"WHERE BEER DOES FLOW AND MEN CHUNDER!" i sang along. we sang for what seemed to be hours and then i saw a sign, "welcome to oklahoma city!"

"dallas what are we doing here?" i asked. i was really confused.

"we are going to see motley crue!" he said.

"holy shit dallas are you serious?!" i screeched.

"yes doll." he handled over the tickets. "i had to pull a few strings and sell my left leg, but i got them."

"PARK THE DAMN CAR!" i demanded.

he did as i said and then i kissed him harder than i ever have and then i hugged him. this was the nicest thing anyone has every done for me. no one knew how much i liked music, except dallas. he kissed me again and then he started to drive again. i rested against him the rest of the ride.

"look in the back seat babe." he said with a cigarette in his mouth. him and his damn cigarettes.

i looked in the back seat and saw an absolute dream. there was red velvet pants, leather top, new boots, and a new leather jacket. i noticed a letter that read:

"i think youll enjoy these clothes. they are more of your style. the jacket is for when you are cold and im not around to let you borrow mine. - the hottest guy around; dal."

i kissed him on the cheek and changed in the back seat. probably the most uncomfortable and scandalous thing ive done so far. people in the other cars on the highway stared at me and they had a pretty clean view since it wasn't entirely dark yet.

dallas doing this made me feel so special. i wasn't expecting this and now i was going to try to surprise him. im not exactly sure how i could do that, but i promise ill try to. hes exposed a lot of his favorite things as a kid to me and im sure i can figure something out to make him feel as good as i do right now.

we got into the general admission and the concert was going great, but dallas made it amazing.

"TAKE ME TO THE TOP!" we all sang in harmony.

"hey doll wanna get on my shoulders?" he yelled, making sure i heard him.

"YES!" i said throwing my hands in the air.

he picked me up and i somehow managed to crawl to his shoulders. we sang together and it was the best fucking night ive ever had.

ive searched my whole life to find a feeling like this. i finally realized this is what life is worth. being with him, living like theres no tomorrow promised, and giving absolutely no fucks. fuck fear. i lived in fear until i met dallas and im glad he brought me out of that dark place because to be completely honest, i was starting to like it. i liked the feeling of being numb, but life is better when you feel and ascend.

guys im sorry for the short chapter and being away for a couple of days. i got a new job and my sister fell off the porch and she had to get stitches so ive been helping her. i hope your summers have and or are going well. peace and love. -o
