I feel bad for lying and pretending not to know what happened to Mariana. Shadow confessed to me the other day and I had to send him out of Italy just to protect his peace. No matter how much he said it was an accident he was released from his position and he is gone from this mafia forever, so I cut ties.

" Man, Giovanni, I fucked up and I mean I fucked up real bad," Shadow said as he came into my office. I closed the door behind him and looked at him confused. " What the hell did you do?" I stated. Trying to keep the volume down just in case someone decides they want to listen in. " I killed her, Gio, I killed Mariana. The girl I was with the other night. She was snooping around and found out who I was and who you were. She couldn't know that business and I tried to tell her to keep this secret between us, but she refused and started to call the cops. They weren't going to do anything unless they had evidence and that would look like a bad thing on your profile, so I pushed her hard and she fell hitting her head and I kept going because, well I don't know why," Shadow explained all in one breath.
I was speechless
" Where is her body now?" I said bringing down my tone. " She is in a body bag in my apartment," Fuck. I just came back from a trip and alright have to deal with a dead body. This shit is going to make the news and soon as we are done with this body I am sending you away from here, but I will have a more in-depth conversation after the fact, let's go," I said and Shadow and I left the house without anyone noticing. " If anyone asks if you have seen me say ' no', and make that over the walkie-talkie," I said to the security guard right at the door.
Shadow and I got into two different cars. In no time we pulled into Shadow's apartment complex. Shadow is a code name, so he uses many other names, so the apartment isn't under his name, but one of his other names so when he leaves without a trace they will have no way to find him no matter how hard they try and questioning me will do no good to them.
Shadow led me to his bedroom and into the closet pulling back many things of clothes and boxes revealing a body bag. " When we are done dumping this body in the river we will come back to clean this place and get rid of the odor because it is starting to smell. I am going to pull my car around," I said and headed back downstairs to pull my car around the back. Shadow came downstairs with the body I looked around and made sure no one was looking.
Luckily the river wasn't too far from where Shadow stayed. It was only about a fifteen-minute drive. I drove to the part of the river that was disclosed so it would take time for the body to float down. I give it a couple of days. I made sure I took the back roads, so we won't get caught or even worse followed.
