Archer POV:

We were upstairs in the apartment. The room was a sofa and a bed the girls won over the bed so me and Wesley shared the sofa.

Two girls lay at the top of the bed whilst two lay at the bottom end.

Adelyn and Daisy at the top.

'I will keep watch.' Adelyn says.

'Not a chance,' Daisy says, 'You never sleep.'

'I'll keep watch guys,' I say.

They settle down and drift off to sleep and I stare out the window for a while. After a while I glance over to the girls. Adelyn looks peacefully asleep and Beatrice tosses and turns a ton it is hard to keep count. She looks scared as a line of sweat builds up. She is breathing heavy and is making strange squeaky noises.

I sit up and shake Wesley awake and he sits up quickly glancing at Beatrice.

'Bee?' He whispers. He stands up and runs to her. I follow and we lean over her. He shakes her and she jolts up. Panting she looks up at Wesley in panic.

'Archer could you swap with Bee?' He asks.

'Wha no that's weird I can't do that!' I whisper shout.

'Sorry Arch but could you sleep on the floor then?'

I sigh and nod. I hadn't even noticed Adelyn sitting up, 'Guys what's going on?' She says.

'Nothing, Beatrice just had a nightmare so you can go back to sleep, kay,' I reassure her. She nods and lies back down covering herself with the blanket. I pick up a sleeping bag and put it next to the bed.

'I assume you will keep watch then Wes?' I ask.

'Yeah.'

I nod and lean against the wall stealing a glance at Adelyn. I hadn't noticed that I had been staring for so long that after some time I heard Wesley's familiar snores. Really?

I sit right up now to keep watch.

'Archer?' I hear a light voice.

'Yeah?' I turn to Adelyn.

'Want me to keep watch?' She asks.

'No, no go back to sleep.' I say.

'I can't,' She says.

'Then we can both keep watch,' I finalise. We both sit in silence for a while.

'Archer?'

'Yeah?'

'Why did they lock you up?'

'They wanted information.' I say.

'About?'

'You.' I hesitate. She stays silent for a moment.

'What did you say?' She asks sounding almost sad.

I look her in the eyes and straight up tell her giving her as little to go off  of as possible, 'We, as in me and Wesley said, Nothing.'

She goes quite again before whispering a thank you and turning to look at the door. I continue looking at her and drift off in thought:

'Archer, Right?' A short vampire glared at me.

'What do you want?' I say sternly.

'No worries kid. We only want your little friend, ah, what's her name?' He thinks, 'Adelyn?'

'Well you might as well kill me because I am not going to help you, got it?'

I wouldn't give into the vampires. Not if it meant harming her.

She turned back to look at me and gave me a small smile. I tapped the floor next to me and she moved to sit by me.

We sat and stared around the room. Well this isn't awkward at all.

I though about her power as a vampire, Wondering what that vampire back at the castle meant.

Her eyes grew heavy and eventually she dozed off. She leant against my shoulder and I let her.

I smiled to myself. I don't think I have ever been this happy.
