It had been two weeks since Winter arrived in Asgard and she was no closer to answers than she was when she first arrived. Odin had kept his distance from her. Winter couldn't help but think that the almighty Allfather feared her. Frigga, Loki, and the healers had been trying to help her unlock any memories that had been pushed into the depths of her mind. The longer Winter was in Asgard, the more frustrated she was becoming. The only people that spoke to her were Loki, Thor, and Frigga. Everyone else seemed to be terrified of her.
After being stuck in her room, bored of the books that Loki had given her, Winter decided that she needed a way to release the pent-up frustration and anger she had from the entire situation. She missed home, she missed Bucky, and she especially missed Clint. Putting on what Asgardians would consider workout attire Winter left her quarters and made her way to the training grounds.
It was still very early in the morning and no one was out. Winter grabbed one of the larger swords that was hanging on the wall and proceeded to practice attacks on the dummies that were provided. As Winter used the sword, thoughts began to swirl in her head. She thought about her time in Hydra, having Bucky separated from her, the endless experiments they did on her, not knowing her own past, the fact she was at least part Asgardian and furthermore Asgardian royalty, and being separated from the one person she felt safe with. With each thought, she attacked the dummies harder and with more force until she finally screamed out in frustration and shot a fire ball at the last dummy. Gasping for air, she collapsed on the ground, sweat dripping off her forehead.
"Well, that was dramatic," said a voice behind her.
Winter whipped her head around to see who it was. Loki was leaning in the doorway, arms crossed and eyebrows raised. Winter wiped at the sweat on her brow, continuing to catch her breath. Loki made his way over to her.
"Feel better?" he asked with a smirk.
Winter laid back on the ground, exhausted from her outburst. "Just peachy," she replied sarcastically.
Loki sat down beside her. They sat in comfortable silence for a while until Winter finally spoke up.
"What was he like?"
Loki looked over; eyebrows furrowed. "What was who like?"
Winter laid her head to the side so she could see Loki better. "Tyr."
Loki's demeanor changed. She noticed he tensed up a bit. Loki cleared his throat, "I didn't really know him well. By the time I came along he was already gone. Thor barely remembers him. But from the stories I heard and have read, he was a very fierce warrior. He and Hela were the golden children of Odin before Thor."
"Hela?" Winter asked in curiosity.
Loki nodded, "Hela and Tyr were Odin and Frigga's first born. They helped him take over the nine realms and had a thirst for war. It got to the point where Odin became fearful of them both. He ended up banishing Hela to the underworld as their goddess. He had plans to do something similar to Tyr but he disappeared before anything could be done."
"Is that why Odin avoids me? Fearful that I am like Tyr?"
Loki gave her a sad smile, reaching out and taking her hand. "Odin is not one to show affection. Trust me, I know from experience. Odin is a bit of a perfectionist and unfortunately for him, all his children, even Thor, have had their problems. It is possible that he sees some of Tyr in you, but that does not mean that you are him." Loki squeezed her hand before letting go.
Winter set up and laid her head on Loki's shoulder. "I just wish I knew why all of this had to happen to me. Why did Hydra have me and how did Odin, the all-seeing Allfather, not know I even existed?"
