Lost In The Echo

Prologue

Jasper's Dream

Bright, flashing lights. Cameras are going off and Jasper can see himself on stage singing something that's not very clear. There is a big crowd and the fans are cheering and singing along, taking videos and even pictures. Jasper thinks to himself if this will actually happen or not. Since he is only watching from a third perspective he decides to veer off.

He goes backstage and since no one can see him he takes a moment to look around. The backstage is full of albums and things for him, he notices that the Jasper in this dream is really famous. He goes into the dressing room labeled Jasper and takes a look around, lots of different outfits and a really awesome guitar case. His eyes flicker to a picture and he examines it. It's a picture of him with Esme and what looks to be their kids.

This shocks him and he puts the picture down quickly. He then wonders if Esme is in the crowd and goes to leave but the Jasper in the dream comes into the dressing room. Thinking since he can't be seen, Jasper stays put. The Jasper in the dream sees him though and stops in the doorway.

"You're me," the dream Jasper says, shocked.

Before Jasper can respond he is altered to another scene. When it focuses, he appears to be outside. The sky is gloomy and it starts to rain, he wanders along and is brought to a tombstone. Startled, he realizes he's in a graveyard and the dream took him to a burial. Jasper looks at the tombstone, it reads "Esme Grace, a loving daughter, died in a car crash." He realizes that this doesn't connect to the other scene and she died before.

The dream alters again and now he's in a house, from the looks of it, it's the kind of house he would want to live in. He slowly moves around the house and approaches the living room. Him and Esme are older, enjoying each other's company and seem to be looking through a photo album. He approaches slowly and they don't know he's there. He sighs in relief and gets close enough to see what they're looking at. They are looking through the things they did together when they were younger.

He smiled and the dream altered once again. He's taken back to the first dream, the dream Jasper hasn't entered the dressing room yet so he takes the opportunity to hide next to the table. The dream Jasper walks in and looks around, Jasper stays quiet and the dream Jasper notices that the picture was moved.

"Who's in here?" the dream Jasper questions.

Jasper stays quiet and the dream Jasper looks around and finds Jasper next to the table.

"Why are you here?" he questions.

"Who sent you?" he asks another question.

Jasper closes his eyes hoping to wake from this weird dream. He is saved by a phone ringing, forcing his consciousness awake.
