McCormick, Mississippi
Betty was drenched in a pool of sweat, as her neck felt so wet. It was a stifling day in the upper 90s, close to 100. The hot Mississippi sun was cooking the atmosphere, like fried eggs on a frying pan. She had no air conditioning in her house.
Betty had the fan on, but it only blew more hot air. It did little to no good. All of Mississippi was under an Extreme Heat Warning. People were advised to stay inside, and drink plenty of water. It wouldn't be until Saturday, when there would be thunderstorms to break the heat. And, the storms would be strong to severe, due to the unstable atmosphere that would set up over the weekend.
Night had arrived, and the mugginess made it uncomfortable for Betty to fall asleep. It had that Louisiana bayou feel. Summers in Mississippi were brutal.

A/N I feel sorry for Betty, that she has to cope with the extreme heat without air conditioning! The heat in Mississippi is ridiculous! 🙄 Don't be a silent reader. Please leave feedback. Thanks.
