Urzael is almost never home, after becoming a mage lord he's always out to do something for the empire, he finds himself wandering far to the north, in the icy plains of Froznia. He looks up, he sees snow falling, he looks around, he sees trees covered with snow. But, when he looks ahead, he sees a mountain. A frozen dragon lives here? Interesting, but it is a threat to the empire, as apparently it attacks the village I just passed by. He thinks to himself, he speeds up, jumping from ledge to ledge. In just over two minutes, he finds himself at the peak. He looks towards the large nest. It isn't in it's home for now.
Urzael sits for an hour in the middle of the nest, just as he thought that his adventure was pointless, he gets up, only to hear a dragon's roar in the distance. Finally. He thinks as he gets up and flies over to the situation. It's attacking the village he passed by earlier. He summons a sword into his hands, the dragon looks down at him. He jumps up, and sticks the sword in it's forehead, in a very quick motion he flips himself using the sword as a hinge and then sends it down further into its forehead, until the dragon drops from the sky. The village cheers and throws a party for him, he decides to stick around for a day to make sure nothing else that's dangerous enough in the area. The next day, he sets off back towards Xalengard.
Sora is wandering the palace halls, thinking of the peace in the city, how calm the world has been. That's when a guard approached him.
"Chronos has been spotted in the mountains of Runerea, except he killed several soldiers who interacted with him, and created a tower made entirely of crystal." He tells Sora, he's shocked at whatever Chronos is doing, and why. They rush towards the table of mage lords, he sends the signal to summon the mage lords. They all appear in about a minute, they ask what's going on, and the guard explains again to them, but has more.
"Chronos is back, and not a friend anymore, a being affiliated with the void almost entirely destroyed the fortress in Froznia, and we've received several reports of demons in the south." He hastily explains, the mage lords then have some conversation on what to do.
"I was in the Froznia region earlier, but not close enough to hear of Frostguard falling, I will check that out, I'm also curious on this void creature." Urzael says, Sora nods.
"Me, Kieba, Yuri, and Zephrous should go to the, I guess we'll give it a name here, the Crystal Spire, to investigate about Chronos. Drake, I think you should go to the demons, as they're in the region that Dragon's Keep stood." Sora tells them. The rest nod, and will assume sentinel positions, the other four at each gate to the city.
Sora and the rest rush to the location that the Crystal Spire should be, they look up the mountain and see it in the distance, and they also notice clouds are forming a vortex around it. They go even faster. When they reach the gate many unbound souls block their path, they got to moving them away. When they got to the top floor, they see Chronos, sitting on a throne. He looks at them, and smiles.
"You beat Surtr, god of death, but can you beat me? Chronos, the new god of time, and by the way, Surtr will be returning sometime soon." He says, Kieba looks a slight bit angry, Yuri and Zephrous prepare themselves, and Sora looks right back at Chronos.
"Time has moved forward, old friend, surely by now we could take you on without problem." Sora says, and summons dual katanas of light, the four rush towards him, Sora hits Chronos, Kieba drains him, Zephrous and Yuri are also slashing and blasting him. Yet, he stands, not even fighting back, Sora realizes that he's using time magic to set back all his wounds to a time before they existed.
"I've got all the time in the world, and infinite timelines to pull myself from!" He says, mocking all of them, they back up. But Chronos seems to not remember teaching Sora time magic, he looks right into Chronos' eyes. and resets his time magic, with his own. Several wounds appear from Chronos in an instant. He looks back, shocked, then he drops to the ground.
"Thank you, my friend... Finally... Freedom." was what came from his last breaths.
Sora seems to understand what comes next for them, they wrap Chronos, and bring him back to the empire, they give him a proper burial. The city of Xalengard for the rest of their day, a somber aura hangs heavy. Sora forms a statue of him, a memorial, even. 'Chronos, the lost hero. A true savior of this world, lost.' Sora seems satisfied with the message. Sakura stands beside him.
"He was one of our best. Are all the gods evil?" Sakura says, frustrated at what happened to Chronos. Sora looks at her, with the same look she has.
"If that's the case, then we'll have to get even stronger, and take down all of them, right?" He says, Sakura remarks how he sounded like Kieba at that moment, they laugh it off, and return to the palace to wait for the rest to return.
