'What could he want this time?' I think to myself walking to my father's office. I know that my father is a busy man and needs help running the pack from time to time, him being the alpha of his pack and all, but the amount of times he's called me into his office this week is just, annoying to say the least. I get to his office and open the door. I see my father and one of the four guards in charge of the gate.

"Good morning Hirosami." My dad says warmly.

"Morning sir." I reply before sitting down in front of his desk.

"Sleep well sir Koji?" The guard asks me.

"Honestly speaking, I'd prefer I never wake up again." I say after letting a yawn out of my system.

"Now, on to the agenda for the day." Dad says.

"Right. So, what exactly did you call me in for this time?" I ask.

"A rogue was spotted a hundred feet from the gate, they apps are male and had white fur, but they ran off the moment they made eye contact with us." The guard says.

"You didn't intimidate the rogue did you?" I ask.

"No, not at all. They just ran when we saw them-"

The guard gets cut off by the sound of the door slamming open. The other three guards come rushing in to my dad's office. They look tired. My dad looks at them angrily.

"What is the meaning of this!?" He asks loudly. One of the guard steps forward.

"My apologies sir, but this is urgent. We had to tell you in person." He says.

"Well make it quick. I'm discussing important matters." Dad snarls at them.

"It's the rogue...we lost him." The guard says.

"What?" Dad says.

"Unfortunately, yes, but this one wasn't like any of the other rogues we've encountered before." One of the other guards says.

"Elaborate." I say to them. Finally noticing my presence in the room, they gulp.

"Well, the rogue ran off, and in our efforts to bring him to you we ended up cornering him at the edge of a cliff. We assured him that we had no intention of harming him, but he looked towards the cliff and, well..." the third guard started before trailing off mid sentence, seemingly looking for a way to put things delicately.

"He jumped, didn't he?" My dad asks in a low tone. The guards nod in response.

"Well that is a shame." My dad says leaning back in is chair. "Hiro, you're dismissed-"

"Sir, the rogue didn't die if that's what you're thinking." The first guard interrupts. Dad shoots him a look.

"And, exactly how do you know this?" Dad asks.

"Well, this part is hard to explain." The guard mutters.

"Just try to explain the best way you can." I say impatiently. After a moment, one guard finally speaks up.

"Before he jumped, we noticed a blue glow emitting from his eyes and glowing markings appearing on his fur. Then after he jumped a glowing blue platform of some kind appeared underneath him. He glanced back at us before running off toward the lake on more platforms." He explains. Dad looks at them unamused.

"I don't have time for these games. Do you really expect me to believe that the rogue got away on some, magic glowing-" He growls before I cut him off.
